This album represents a time in my life where I've been able to overcome drug addiction by focusing deeply on my music. Music has already saved my life in the past as I've dealt with depression, (and still sometimes do), and there was a point when my music was the only thing keeping me going. I know that I will be an addict for the rest of my life, but in taking it one day at a time, my music really helps to keep me on the right path. “Highly Addictive” represents how music has become a healthy “addiction” in my life, and how it has replaced the negative ones, again most likely saving my life in the process.

Last Saturday, London-based techno producer @dying_in_beauty performed an all vinyl DJ set at Inverted Audio Record Store in Peckham to mark the release of ‘In Praise In Shadows’ EP issued through his own Rhythm Without Reason imprint.

Born in Sweden but operating out of Berlin, Philippa Pacho has been making waves in the scene as of late, notably amassing a stream of incendiary performances at some of the world’s finest (and most demanding) clubs, including Bassiani and Fuse. Herald of a fast-paced, no-surrender type of DJing, all eyes set on bringing crowds to a simmer thru and thru, Philippa muscles her way across various techno sub-genres and rhythms with conviction and poise, alternatively pushing classic Detroit-influenced material, Nordic minimalism and more Continental European-informed expressions, as she harnesses the very best of these through uncompromising selections with a pristine mixing technique. Teffa pioneers uncharted 140 dungeons in his triple-hitting ‘Toastin’ EP, marking his Albion Collective debut.

Title track, ‘Toastin’, rallies a submersive procession through contemporary dubstep, adorned with golden-age echoes and diamond-edge percussion. Descending into the B-side’s oubliette, ‘Luna’ barks, skanks and growls around subterranean temple walls, where dubbed-out lights and spacious textures emancipate the dance. ‘Gelato’ draws it all back, stalwart sub-bass leading heads down while strict kick-and-snare combos strengthen the sway.

Rarely retracing his steps, architect Teffa builds new tapestries into each vinyl revolution, evolving the vibe across every slice of his debut ‘Toastin’ EP on Albion Collective. Regarding second drops… good things come to those who wait.
