I was asked to play at 7am on the day the festival started... Friday peak time meant there was no time for foreplay.  The people seemed to enjoy the spanking ;)  And then we took a left turn into balkan land, to introduce the next headliner, Balkan Bump.  I'm super grateful for the opportunity and had the best time playing for a full house!

We had an amazing beach day on labour day weekend to close out an epic season of Beach FamJams!!  This recording was live off the mixer so you get to hear all our announcements throughout :)  This event was an epic ending to an amazing summer season of dancing on beaches.  Here's to many more!! Beach Famjam - LadyK and em.ash (Leolife)

This is a set I put together earlier this year which was meant to be played this summer at 230pm on the beach stage at The Pachena Bay Festival on Saturday. Due to what seemed to be an unfortunate surge from the generator, my USB hub got fried, and therefore I was unable to connect my laptop to my mixer. I was heartbroken. Thankfully I had some of the most important people in my life around me to keep me from a complete breakdown. 

After many attempts to get things to work, the decision was made to play on CDJs, through an external HD, which didn’t have the music for this set on it, so I had to quickly improvise. The set went well, people loved it, but I was left extremely frustrated and discouraged. 

In the 30 years I’ve been playing music, I’ve honestly never put so much time, effort and emotion into building a set as I have this one. After the unfortunate events, I vowed I’d never play this anywhere other than the setting is was meant for, but my amazing Estelle 💖 talked me into making this my first studio recording in almost 8 years, and I’m happy she did.

What Could Have Been

Recorded live from Funky Town at Burning Man 2016.  This 2 hour set is some of my favourite downtempo music, both classics and new.   Those familiar with the Detour or Lazy Syrup mixes will recognize plenty of the vibes in this set.. enjoy!
