Over five years on from his first appearance on the label with 'Follow Me' off the 'Dnepr_Vancouver' VA, Ukrainian don Stanislav Tolkachev resurfaces with his debut solo four-tracker for RYC. Not quite swerving from the sonic pathway his name has become synonymous with over the years, ever so alien and transporting, Tolkachev’s latest boasts the very exact qualities that have made his sound stand out from others, earning him a constantly growing crowd of heirs and imitators along the way.

Breaking the trip in, 'Up The Steel Stairway' sets the tone for the EP without further ado. Sniping hails of steadily frantic, arpeggiated synth chords and puncturing kick drums that’ll have you dancing like one rolls with the punches, Tolkachev sails into the eye of the cyclone all guns blazing. Lacking no pounding heft either, 'The Less You Know' slits a way open into your head through a carefully dissonant symbiosis of corrosive synth lines and octave-shifting bass gone astray. On-the-edge techno at its rowdiest, most mentally challenging.

Flip the coin and here comes the deranged, trouble-brewing 'One More To Go'. Cranking the mind-bogglingness a notch further, this one bulldozers its way past all sanity thresholds without blinking. Final number 'The Way To The After' tops it off in more straightforward but equally immersive fashion. Plunging us in a submerged chamber of sorts, where heavily verbed-out synth flexions entangle along tranquilly ascending pads, progressively dissolving in inert pools of FX-charged bleach and slo-dripping dub venom.

*We've also decided to spice things up a bit with a very special and limited 'crystal clear' edition, in addition to the regular black wax run, both pressed in 180 gram audiophile quality. These won't be available separately, but spread amongst the main run as some kind of lost easter egg, so keep your eyes peeled!

Nacido y criado en Santander, P.E.A.R.L. fue testigo por primera vez de la música electrónica de finales de los 90 y principios de los 00, sonidos que desempeñaron un papel fundamental en sus producciones. De adolescente, el español se sumergió en la cultura de club y enseguida se sintió atraído por los ritmos ásperos del techno británico.

2006 marca el punto de partida de su ahora principal aka: P.E.A.R.L. publicando sus primeros temas en Tsunami Records.

En 2012 se traslada a Berlín y un año después funda su propio sello, Falling Ethics Records, primero como salida para sus propias producciones y últimamente abriendo las puertas a otros creadores como Umwelt u Oscar Mulero.

2017 va a ser un año crucial en su carrera, con el lanzamiento de su primer álbum, Temptation through Impatience, que se publicará en su propio sello Falling Ethics y su incorporación a PoleGroup.

Recientemente, en 2020-2021, ha lanzado una serie de temas contundentes y EPs como Tribal Science en el sello OAKS de Hector Oaks o We Will Not All Fall , el primer lanzamiento de su nuevo subsello Falling Ethics Moral Standards: Una mirada subjetiva a la escena Techno actual con música de artistas como Matrixxman, Sunil Sharpe, VCO o Nene H.

Como intérprete es un excelente selector en la cabina del dj, combinando el pulso de grooves machacones de una manera muy ecléctica, haciendo siempre de sus sets un viaje inesperado.

Born and raised in Santander, P.E.A.R.L. first witnessed electronic music from late 90s - early 00s sounds which played a fundamental role in his productions.   As a teenager, the Spaniard immersed himself within club culture and was immediately drawn to the harsh beats of British techno. 

2006 marks the starting point of his now primary outlet: P.E.A.R.L. releasing his first tracks on Tsunami Records.

In 2012 he moves to Berlin and one year after he founds his own imprint,  Falling Ethics Records, first as an outlet for his own productions and lately opening the doors to other creators like Umwelt or Oscar Mulero.
2017 is going to be a pivotal year on his career, with the release of his first Album, Temptation through Impatience, to be released on his very own Falling Ethics imprint and his addition to PoleGroup.

Recently in 2020-2021, he unleashed a string of hard-hitting tracks and EPs such as Tribal Science on Hector Oaks imprint OAKS or We Will Not All Fall , the first release of his new Falling Ethics sublabel Moral Standards: A subjective look at the current Techno scene with music from artists like Matrixxman, Sunil Sharpe, VCO or Nene H. 

As a performer he is an excellent selector in the dj booth, combining the pulse of pounding grooves in a very eclectic way, always making his sets an unexpected journey.

My next guest on Yax Invites is PERT, a DJ and Producer originally from Buenos Aires and is the creator of the V.A. cycle. (Various Artists). 

To achive musical indentiy in her sets she mixes hardgroove, tribal, Detroit and breakbeats. Her focus on creating hypnotic and groove-filled sessions has made her a constant presence in the most important clubs such as Cocoliche, Crobar, Under Club, Niceto etc. In her monthly agenda she tours a large part of the Argentine provinces and has shared international shows such as Insolated Lines and Amazingblaze. 

In addition to her work as a DJ, PERT develops as a producer. This year she released music on Be Techno, Butterfly Records, Pulse, TQW, Organic Records, Beatcode and Gig Techo.
