This section's great! Love the way you've stuck such a strong melody over what's at this point a pretty chaotic backing.

I produced this track when I was 17. I was in a creative renaissance having discovered electronica in Europe a couple of years' prior and poured out song after song. I wanted to release this track as my debut single because of what it represents: an era of my life and my musical development where I was finally starting to create what I wanted to create after years of playing acoustic instruments. But I was held back by self doubt and overwhelmed by mixing; I could never get it to sound release-ready. To finally put this out into the world is symbolic for me, because now I can let go of that time and move forward from here.
It's called Siberia simply because as I started to write, I envisioned a brutal but beautiful sparkling icy landscape. But underneath that, this song is really an expression of my emotions in their abstract form. I hope it pulls you along.

D.A.Wilson - The End Of The Beginning

A live improv featuring two solo string patches played in unison recorded directly from a 1983 DK Synergy II+, an early additive 32 oscillator digital synthesizer recently returned to working order at Hideaway Studio.  The Synergy is a direct relative of the Crumar GDS and the Bell Labs Synthesizer known as Alles Machine.

These strings are 100% synthesized.. not a sample in sight here - and all the more amazing considering the age of this all-digital beast!

1982 DK Synergy II+: SoLo Strings

A live improvisation recorded on what was Klaus Schulze's ultra rare 1979 Crumas General Development System (GDS) [featured on Death of An Analog among others] during final testing prior to shipping the beast to its new owner following a 100% tear down and major restoration by D.A.Wilson at Hideaway Studio.  Considerably ahead of its time, and one of only three known surviving examples, the GDS was a groundbreaking digital synthesizer featuring FM and additive synthesis in 16-bit audio.

A new piece of music this year. The piano bits came from a worthless 8 minute piano improv in 1999. i clipped the bits that didn't suck, modified them, then built the rest of this song around it.

Pianoteq, Les Paul electric guitar, Logic's Ultrabeat, ES1 & ES2, wooden flute, lots of distortion from Logic and VG-99, bass guitar made possible by Roland VG-99, some clapping (costing me red hands after dubbing enough to sound like 15 people)... and my voice during the second half. My eyes are killing me. Time for bed. Hope you enjoy this work in progress.

Electronic musician, but you wont find dance music or insect noises here. These tracks come from different eras and modes in my music composition history, but they all came from me in one form or another.

The tracks with Red Light Ballroom are auditions i did with a band (they were looking for a lyricist/vocalist). i did the words and vocals, but the rest is the band.
