Soon as the newness wears off, people are likely to fall back. The only one you can truly count on is yourself. Everyone would rather hate on you for doing what you love, instead of supporting you; unless it's beneficial to them. Watch your back, be diligent, and don't get caught up in the moment!!

Caught Up In The Moment (Ft. Krizz Kaliko)

I wrote this song shortly after receiving a lot of hate from my song "Caught Up In The Moment". I thought to myself, "Why can't people just be supportive and show support for someone doing what they love to do?" My answer...people that aren't doing nothing, aren't going anywhere, they're the ones that hate because they hate the way their lives are and they're too scared to do something about it. This track is about determination and never letting the opinions of others stop you from chasing your dreams. Along with some lyrical finesse and creativity, I tell the story of E-Kaine. E-Kaine is a rapper who's fast flow, strong lyrics, and dynamic sound set him apart from the normal hip-hop crowd and it scares people because it's new! People don't like what they're not comfortable with and they especially don't like new things. This project is the embodiment of motivation, determination, and passion.

"Fake Smile" is a poignant exploration of the struggles and complexities surrounding addiction and mental health. The song opens with a melancholy melody that reflects the inner turmoil of living a double life-where a bright smile masks the pain and chaos underneath. The lyrics delve deep into the harsh realities in the life of an addict. Capturing the feelings of isolation, desperation, and the relentless cycle of seeking solace in substances. 

As the narrative unfolds, the song paints a picture of the toll addiction takes on relationships, self-worth, and mental wellbeing. The protagonist grapples with the facade of happiness, realizing that the "fake smile" is not just a mask for others, but also a prison they've built for themselves. With each verse, the listener is invited to witness the struggle for authenticity and the fight for a healthier mindset. 

The hook serves as a powerful anthem for resilience, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging one's feelings and seeking help. It highlights the critical need for mental health awareness, encouraging listeners to break the stigma surrounding addiction and emotional struggles. "Fake Smile" is a heartfelt reminder that behind every smile, there may be a story of pain, and that true strength lies in vulnerability and the courage to seek support. Ultimately, the song is a call to action-urging us to prioritize mental health and foster compassion for ourselves and others in their battles.

Elijah Eubanks aka E-Kaine is an artist from Michigan. Started writing his lyrics at 15 and became a recording artist shortly after. Due to mental health issues and other tragedies in his life he fell into the darkness of addiction. For 8 grueling years he was in the shadows. He found out he was going to have a son in 2022 and that sparked in him a fire. He overcame his addiction and started going to school at LAFS. He started writing and recording again. His main influences are fellow Michigan rapper Bones, Tech N9ne, Eminem, and a few others.
