Tomorrow On March 11th we raise a toast to Keith Emerson, sorely missed.   If you were lucky enough to see him live, like I was many times, Your Jaw dropped out of the sheer
brilliance !!  Not only just in ELP, but the Keith Emerson Band, 3, 3.2   and his solo soundtracks and orchestra pieces. The Three Fates conducted by Terje Mikkelsen with Marc Bonilla,  you have got to check that out..  He Said " I only wanted to be known as a composer"  in his later years. those who got to see his play with Brian Auger at the Sour Grapes were so lucky.  So here is my Humble Improv don't cringe too much  Peace G And I raise a toast to the Maestro!

I close my POTENCIAL BIÓTICO album with this contemporary revival of a philosophical song I wrote 19 years ago when my grandpa died.

Could describe it as a requiem for guitar quartet, 2 voices, rhythmic base & church bell (you may know the piano version at https://soundcloud.com/esemanolain-ruizzo/sets/piano-sessions-2012 album).

A mostly slow piece with lotta soul and no artistic ambition (but a little ‘Pros&Cons’ air to the end ;).

Miedo al cambio (Acostumbrado)

Back in 1985, I made the decision that, as a white, male tractor driver for the local Parks Department, I was uniquely qualified to apply for the newly created job as Assistant Equal Opportunites Officer at the Town Hall.  Clearly, the interviewing board saw things in much the same light and, from nearly 200 applicants, selected me for the post.   OK, so I might not change the world, but could at least make a start on Twickenham.  Thirty years on, the efforts I made are still evident, so much so that the sleepy Middlesex hamlet is still known throughout the civilised world as a beacon of universal inclusion.  Or possibly Rugby Union.

Fast forward to 1994, my second child is on the way and I have now resumed driving the tractor, prompting the thought that it was time to have some fun and get Root Division back together.  I blew all our savings on a guitar, keyboard, a couple of mikes and one of them fancy, new Fostex X18, 4 track recorders and set about recording some new songs as bait. 
‘Scream’ was one of those.

Of course, Root Division never did reform and equal opportunity also seems to be a light of former days.  Makes you want to Scream…

There are so many great musicians on SoundCloud, I wish I could make music with everyone of you. I often reflect on all the great music you have all made, how we are constantly making new songs (because that is what artist do), and how many of our great creations can easily get forgotten. Most of our songs don’t get a chance to live like those songs that get repeated on the radio. And while many of us probably don’t like mainstream radio, many of us would probably like our best songs to have a bigger life, or at least shine a little brighter and be remembered a little longer. As a way to breathe additional air into one of our community members older music, I selected 5 tracks from Hot Os discography and remixed them to make “Twenty Twelve”

Humongous thanks to Hot Os for letting me select and edit 5 prime beats as well as raid his Instagram account for Zine images. Massive thanks to Janine Levinson and Jay Walker Black for dropping those hot guest vocals.
