This is the 7th song posted from the album I have been working on using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic! I can't believe how fast time has passed and how long we have been working on this project. 4 songs from the album are based on a graphic novel that Wou-Wou had started before the pandemic began. The rest of the songs are reflections of the weird times we were living in.

Big thanks to Wou Wou, Bit-zone, and Stricknice for still being here after all these years. I have known and worked with people on SoundCloud probably longer than I have known high school friends, college friends, and friends from various jobs. Huge thanks to Guitar Wizards of the Future. I remember when I first began participating in the SoundCloud community, I would always eagerly anticipate a new GWOTF track, especially because I grew up in Oakland California. This is a perfect song for collaboration that JJ came up with on the keys and bass, based on a really cool drum track that Ken (K2 and the Three, K2 and the Four) gave him. They are both wildly creative, and left the perfect amount of collaborator space, as they do on every song. Then I got a hold of it and added the main guitar, lap slide, mandolin, and some synth. Then we sent it over to Stephen (TexMex Shaman), who added that really cool guitar solo at the end of the first part, and some more guitar to the end. Also, and very importantly, Stephen produced and mixed this for us. Talk about monumental task! It was like we gave him a basket of cats, and he made a cohesive thought out of it. I'm amazed. I can't overstate how much I enjoy making music with these three sorcerers. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we did making this.

Seems to be an endless repeated theme for me ~ running away to the countryside, and in recent years this has been the Australian wilderness, from the deep south to the far north.

Dedicated to, and featuring Gary Reeves (aka Mountain Songs) on drums and cymbals (remixed) at the start. Banjo, lap slide guitar (acting as bass), beats and vox by myself. This song is for Gary, who has been a wonderful musical compadre for many of us around the world, via this  Soundcloud Village.

Respect and acknowledgement to the Traditional Owners of the lands, waters and skies in this video, both in Australia and New Zealand. Particular thanks to the Yolgnu people of Gapuwiyak who made me feel so welcome during my short visit to Arnhem Land last year.

Back to my song revival project.  Here is one of those songs I wrote back then where the song title was not mentioned in the lyrics.  I think probably in the end I was unsure what I really wanted to convey and the whole plot seemed a bit obscure.  So I gave it the title “Mist”.  Just see what you think.
