Dead End Irony is a NWOBHM/power metal influenced modern metal band established in Imatra, Finland 2010. They are known for solid guitar riffs, crunching vocals and striking choruses.

Dead End Irony's tale started with five young guys, Simo Jokela, Antti Vainio, Valtteri Backman, Jori Kauppinen and Mika Kauppinen and with a dream to create awesome heavy metal band! Unfortunately at 2012, Valtteri had to focus on his studies as a sound engineer and the band had to find another singer. In the year 2014, after a run of many canditates they found Riku Kamunen to take place behind the microphone.

Dead End Irony released it's first EP Wounds That Never Heal in March 2015. It was recorded and mixed by Janne Väätäinen at Pill the Posers studio and mastered in Finnvox by Mika Jussila. EP received great feedback and almost all of the copies were sold out within a week. Soon after that Dead End Irony won the biggest South-Carelian metal band competition named Rälläkkä.

At the end of 2015 band's lineup changed so that Mika's and Riku's ways parted with the band. Fortunately Valtteri was done with his studies and was eager to came back to his rightfull place as the singer. At the very same time a longtime friend, Kristian Valkama joined the band to take control of rhythm guitarists place.

Like a Phoenix, Dead End Irony emerged from the ashes once again with new drive to conquer the world! At the start of the year 2017 DEI participated to Tuska-torstai band competition among other 99 bands from all over the Finland. Through many succesful gigs and stadion sized choruses Dead End Irony reaches it's place in the finals with 3 other bands.

DEI has also acclaimed some international fame by being in Epic Rock Radio top artist list twice. First time in October 2016 at position 4 then again in March 2018 at position 1

In February 2018 Dead End Irony started recordings of their second EP Into The Void. Recordings were done in Kuma Project studio by Valtteri Backman who also mixed the EP. The record was mastered in Astia-studio using analog gear by Anssi Kippo . Into The Void EP was released 11th of June.

Dead End Irony is:
Valtteri Backman: Vocals
Simo Jokela: Guitars
Kristian Valkama: Guitars
Antti Vainio: Bass
Jori Kauppinen: Drums

Guitarist from Oklahoma...some of these tracks are up to 10 years old in no specific order but the older songs are generally near the bottom of the list. I'm pretty bad at naming things so everything is named with the best description I can give. This is just a catalog of my riffs and ideas I have recorded over the years. I also dabble in some hip hop beats, I really love underground MC's like Atmosphere and MF Doom, I would say my inspiration comes from that type of hip hop. Hope you like it!
