This is my entry for the Embertone Stranger Themes contest where I had to choose a stranger's theme to arrange! :) The one I chose was based on a jazzy chord progression called the "Waltz Of The Penguins". I arranged it to have a very Ghibli, French/Italian flair! I hope you enjoy this arrangement! :)

The good folk over at Embertone hosted a contest based on a creative idea. Compose a tune and submit it in March. Then choose a stranger's theme and transcribe, arrange, and/or re-compose it, featuring at least one Embertone instrument in April. I chose UK composer Eamonn Watt's Sea of Tranquility, as it practically begged to be orchestrated. Eamonn is an up-and-coming UK-based composer whose works have already won prizes in other competitions. There's no doubt why. His music is well-designed with a clear beginning, middle, and end. It has interesting harmonies, melodies, and themes, and it has a sense of drama to it. Eamonn wrote Sea of Tranquility for piano. I decided to arrange it for orchestra. This arrangement features the Fischer Viola, the Chapman Trumpet, and the Chapman Tuba. All other instruments are from the Vienna Symphonic Library Special Edition.
