Spring is around the corner, time for a new face. For our 41th POOLcast we invited Meow the Seventh. She provides us with a selfcrafted live project that perfectly bridges the last cold days.

The time of the year to finally banish scarves and gloves to the depths of the wardrobes, when the trees fill their old veins with life again, the first brave sprouts push their offspring through the soil and the air fills up again with sounds beyond mechanical origins. A feeling arises that everyone describes differently, sometimes it is the feeling of wanting to tackle something new, sometimes it is the thought of having overcome something or simply the inexplicable feeling that comes with looking at green foliage against a blue sky. No matter what images and feelings go through your mind when you think of the upcoming spring, you will find them in Meow's work. A piece characterized by resolute synth lines, promising soundscapes, dynamic grooves and vibrant tonal structures.

we are glad to bring you a new experimental adventure 
from sound engineering pioneer Unaporte. 

in search of a different kind of imagery, with sections of noise and field recordings intersecting with digital synthesis Unaporte sets a mixture of contrasted fragments, where the unusual creative process leads us to the discovery of a dark, hazy and diffused experience. 

there is a post minimalistic quality to his rythmic elements, with tempos seemingly constantly contracting and expanding although this is just an illusionary trick for our mindset. 

Imagine a late stage of the post electronic revolution, with the interaction between sound creating and sound absorbing machines and human beings. 

in short Unaporte´s Carta is a delicious and foggy sounding experience that brings us in an understandable way directly into deep territories of underground sound production and minimalism. 

Included in this EP is an experimental remix by Mudo and an electronic collaboration and reinterpretation for Carta between Unaporte and Massud Matin

POOLcast 060 - gnilyf	

This monthly issue of POOLcast marks our 5th anniversary. Five years ago we started to present you music from us, our musician friends and musical discoveries every month. With this episode we end our 5th season and half a decade of POOLcast.

For this occasion gnilyf has provided us again with one of his self-made mixtapes, which, fitting to the expiring decade, seems to serve as a stirring and stirring metaphor for the year or decade that is running out. Wavering rhythms are carried through shimmering layers, disharmonic drones are stacked on top of each other until they create an echo of confidence. Jazzy and electronic phrases vie for your attention as they seem to be played from the stage by bold experimental soundscapes. An everlasting struggle between truth and clarity. The last decade and especially the last months have shown us that truth does not mean clarity and that you can get into a fly glass faster than you thought possible. True clarity is hidden behind a veil of unpredictability that is formed by multiple futures. Moments of clarity grant us only a brief glimpse of one of these possible future events, only to be veiled again a few moments later, and we blindly try to take the right path. 

So stay tuned and be with us for the next 5 years.

Hungarian producer Eapana has been started listening and collecting electronic music since 2004. After much learning in the early years about producing, mixing and mastering he released his first EP in 2008. His releases and remixes had excellent responses in the house scene of that time. After quiet years he is back with more experienced and matured sounds. Although using these genres as base points - ancient dub, tribal, heavy trip-hop or straight technoid rhythms - no object what playing in his live acts and showing on his releases, the slow-tempo obsessed producer represents his own unique musical world with his features: athmospheric and odd sounds, drone undertones, rooted dubs, ancient tribal drums, charming synthetic sounds.

My first full length album "Phases of Gravity - Anchorage" releasaed on June 21, 2023. Greyscalemusic CD Series 29th.
