 Born in Ibiza in 1972. A deeply resonant paradise. A bridge for music. His first contact with radio was at 13 when he dismantled his grandmother’s old radio set in order to fit a double deck inside to play his music on.

 His curiosity for the radio leads him to form part of almost all Ibiza radio stations in the last 25 years.

 Ibiza Global Radio was born in 2004 and with it came the chance to listen to high quality electronic music 24 hours a day.

 Jose Maria Ramon is Dj & Music Director of the station and is the head of 3 famous radio shows `Morning Sounds´ with 3 National awards as best electronic Radio Show in Spain, Vicious Music Awards 2011, DjMag Awards 2011 and Electronica & Roll Awards 2012, ‘Melodías para tu sofá’ his downtempo show and `LG2dClub´specialised in the new way of deep house.

 In 25 years working with the Music he has played in numerous places around the island, highlights being in Ushuaia, Space Ibiza (Resident Dj for 5 years), Pacha Ibiza, Café Del Mar etc...and the opening and closing of the biggest clubs in Ibiza, as well as in the most important European Clubs and cities such as Dubai, Algiers, Berlin, Hannover, Munich, Zurich, Bucharest, Budapest, Paris, Rome, Milan or Copenhagen to name some, and with a really big success in Germany and in Romania with more than 40 parties in 2 years.

With ‘Analog Junkies’ we welcome Canadian duo Beyond Physical to ICONYC with their latest two track masterpiece. Beyond Physical who have been causing quite a stir with their melodic techno / progressive house influenced productions make their debut with 2 stunning original tracks. Passionate about their métier and adept in a variety of genres, ambience is an integral component in the duo's production sound as techno, deep and progressive house are closely tied to sensations ranging across the spectrum from melancholy to delight. Now interchanging these differing moods into audile form.

Their latest outing shows maturity and musical development, as we kick off proceedings with ‘Dark Angel’, a collaboration with Veytik. The track opens with all the right notes, as the expressive, progressive house influenced track grabs you from the word go, interspersing with roomy glowing vibes and filtered stabs, driving leads culminating into an energetic drop to round off this brilliant underground crowd pleaser, with its understated yet driving bassline powering the groove along. Beyond Physical & Veytik manage to keep the energy up, subtlety allowing the driving feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape.

Hello again, with the final of your holiday gifts. These past 12 months have led to unprecedented times and moments we would like to forget. So as we transcend towards a new year with hope in our hearts, it's more important than ever to reflect on years gone by, especially when so many of our life experiences are surrounded by certain pieces of music. 

One of the greatest loves in all my lifetime has been the radio; particularly listening between Christmas and New Year when classic songs from yesteryear would be celebrated. It's something I wanted to translate through my own radio show, and for the 16th straight year now, it is encapsulated by our classics showcase - reliving some of the greatest trance tunes of our era once again. or discovering gems you may never have heard before.

As a young boy, I discovered my love for music in 2003, when I first heard electronic dance music on the radio (a set by Paul Van Dyk).

I was immediately hooked and spent every moment learning more about the genre and immersing myself in it.

Eventually, I discovered DJ Tiesto's trance albums named “In Search of Sunrise” (the older and better ones).

I became captivated by his “Live at Clubspace” set. This was life-changing for me.

Listening to it repeatedly sparked a desire in me to stand on stage and bring happiness to others through my music too.

Over time, that desire faded into the depths of my being.

It was reignited years later when I stumbled upon the Mix.dj app.

Inspired, I bought my first DJ controller and began mixing music myself.

Later, I went wild with Psytrance for a very long time in south Germany.

Now, I return to “my roots” and focus on a leisurely progressive sound with deep house and melodic techno influences.

After a long struggle with myself, I have finally made the decision to make my own music and stop pushing my love for it to the side and wait for a better time.

Because when it comes down to it, there are very few things I would regret on my deathbed...
