Back on board Crosstown Rebel off­shoot Rebellion since his massive ‘Two Days In The Sky EP’ was released on the label late last year, LA based producer DAVI returns to deliver ‘The Gates of Babylon’. Never restricted by the boundaries of genre, the title track is highly mystifying as it resonates a distinct middle eastern tone through the infectious melody and layered atmosphere. The release also features the stunning ‘Eclipse’ which follows suit taking you on a deep melodic journey, filled with warm tones, vibrant strings and a solid bassline.

Jeremy Olander ends 2016 on a strong note with 'Caravelle.' The extended player's closing track 'Shuttle' is a particularly fascinating cut, demonstrating why he's up for Beatport's 'Progressive Artist of the Year' award by providing a complex, ethereal soundscape perfect for catalyzing moving moments on the after-hours dance floor.

Manual Music kicks off 2017 with something truly special. Nearly a decade after it's initial release on Deep Focus, 'Been Here Before' by Guy J gets a remix treatment by Namatjira. These are not just a couple of new remixes, but these were born out of the idea to create an ode to Jerry van Schie, co-label owner of Deep Records and Deep Focus, and driving force behind the Groovecollection brand who passed away in 2016 after losing his fight to cancer.

In the words of Namatjira: 'After the funeral of Jerry I was thinking I wanted to do something musical to honor Jerry with. It took me a few to know what I wanted. When I opened the old Deep (Jerry & Peter's label) catalogue there was immediately one track that caught my attention, 'Been Here Before' by Guy J. I contacted Peter to see if he was willing to share the parts with me and he agreed immediately with me. 

I started working on the track and made two versions. I told Guy the story and let him listen to the sketches I had made and together we made a final choice. Then I finished the instrumental and contacted Ben "Royal Sapien" Mautner if he wanted to give the vocal parts his touch to make it work with my instrumental. 

When we both were satisfied the first big bump I had to take was to talk to Jerry's brother and hoped he would feel the remix. He defenilty felt it and contacted Jerry's wife. Later that week I had her on the phone and she told me she cried during the complete song, I had goosebumps all over my body and a lump in my throat.'

All proceeds for this release will go to Jerry's wife to donate to whatever charity cause she feels appropriate.

Guy J - Been Here Before (Namatjira's Ode To Jerry Remix)

One of Dancing Astronaut’s artists to watch in 2017 and the man behind one of the most impressive debuts of 2016, Beatport #1 album ‘One Day of Independence’ on Guy J’s Lost & Found, returns to home ground. This time in the shape of 5 incredible remixes by some of electronic music’s most intriguing and brightest stars.

Lehar, Luca Bachetti, Patrice Baumel, Termoment and Lost & Found head honcho Guy J have each reinterpreted their favourite off Khen’s future classic debut.

‘Imaginal Cells’ has been repurposed by the label boss himself into a beautiful slice of melodic goodness. With trippy FX details and a serene breakdown, its yet another Guy J classic rework. 

Diynamic's Lehar offers his take on the Khen and Guy J collabo ‘Prism’, turning down the intensity of the original with a sophisticated touch, he leads the track to deeper waters with an infectious melody that marries the familiar underlying key elements of the original in perfect symbiosis.

The sonic voyage continues with Luca Bachetti’s groovish take on ‘Authentica’. Adding to the recognisable lead melody, he gives the track an almost cinematic and atmospheric treatment that leaves you longing for more.

Patrice Baumel, fresh from the success of his recent remix of Cubicolor, tackles ‘Land of Goshen’. Taking the track in a more driving and pumping direction with a nod to 90s classic Trance, this track will cause a stir in sets from dusk to dawn.

Closing the collection on a trippy vibe with hints of old school Acid and an uncanny detailed soundscape that will leave you in awe, is Termoment’s take on ‘One Day of Independence’. A beautiful and fitting finalé to this weighty package of reworks.

As Guy J's exceptional Lost & Found imprint reaches the milestone 50 releases, they look back at 3 moments which have made the label so successful. Bristling with talent, the label has showcased the amazing Israeli progressive scene like no other. First up comes long time friends and collaborators, Sahar Z and Navar with their 2017 smash, When We Face Reality re-edited by an inspired Khen. Deep, soulful and utterly beguiling, the melodies soar in melancholy wonder. Khen is the next artist to get the remix treatment, this time from Belgian superstar Hermanez. Focusing on Khen's incredible sound design, Hermanez builds a uniquely melodic groover from all manner of percussive sources. Finally, Luka Sambe's Sooti, here gloriously reimagined by Eli Nissan. The most uptempo of the trio, Eli weaves a nuanced tail with sweeping sonics, deep pads and cleverly orchestrated toplines.

Destination Tel Aviv: Long time collaborators and friends of Bedrock Guy Mantzur and Khen join forces once again for two lavish slabs of glistening, outer-planetary house music. 

Taking off where 2016’s heavyweight ‘Children With No Name’ on Lost & Found left us, the pair map out two singular sets of coordinates to two faraway places. ‘Where Is Home’ takes the bullet train to vibe town: pumping, widescreen and cosmic to the core, there’s a heavy funk to the Giorgio-style bass and precision-placed percussive melodic notes as we drive further and further into horizon. 

Just over that horizon you find ‘My Golden Cage’. Don’t ask what it is. Don’t ask about its deep, introspective soul soothing properties. And definitely don’t ask how deep into the furthest realms of the solar system it will hurl you. The enduring yin to the astral funk of ‘Where Is Home’, it brings the journey full circle… And makes you want to start it all over again. Buckle up.
