That's part of how i've learned things. By re-creating some of my favorite songs and arrangements. Trying to sound as "close" as the original. I did this when i got my first Linn-drum  back in 1986. i had the regular "Linn-drum". The "Linn 9000" i got about a year later. Gosh, back in the days i actually had time to all this...

This is inspired by all my people who love the acoustic version of World Inside Your Rainbow. It's strange how a song can manifest into a slew of different feelings and images, from the time you created it to months after... it can mean something entirely different.

When I wrote it I was kind of just freebasing on a raw emotion. But it's meaning was to come later... this song signifies a diary for me. A love affair with the year that has just passed and all the adventures we have all undertaken together.

The sentiment behind 'World Inside Your Rainbow' is;

My relationship with everyone at KTT and how they lifted me up when these bootlegging suckas tried to bring my ship down...
My superclose friendship with Gelila Bekele (the amazing model/activist that starred in the visual for WIYR and how she lifted me up when my Granny passed away)...
My SISTER Rosario Dawson and how she always inspires me with her words, support and unwavering belief. She was the first one that told me how much she loved this version.

This song now means so much to me and serves as a sonic collage of so many events as I perform it. So many beautiful things. Even the heartache I have endured this year as I watched 2012 severe a slew of friendships and relationships. We watch on, tearfully even, but all in the knowledge that we are alive. We are here to grow. To learn. To forgive. To love.
