Luca Averna and Ale Doretto are two Venezians living in Ibiza that aim to capture the true musical spirit of the island under their Residentes Balearicos guise. Often collaborating with Chris Coco, Luca and Ale maintain the breezy and free energy so synonymous with the White Isle through their polished productions, deftly moving between languid beach side chillers to intoxicating house music. With two superb outings on Kenneth Bager’s Music For Dreams label, the pair now make an offering on Joe Morris’ nascent Shades Of Sound imprint with the Postales EP.

‘Noche De Verano’ captures the mid to late Eighties Balearic flavour to a tee; chunky drums and big snares, children chanting, heavenly keys and wistful flutes all combine to create that perfect alfresco dancing moment. ‘Soleada’ slows the pace for an early evening ride, with a Larry Heard style deep house groove. Gentle keys and male vocal motifs melt over pulsing arps and gated pads.

Joe Morris flips the energy with his Soleada remixes, creating an Italian dream house inspired take on his Halcyon mix and a blissed out breakbeat version with the Twilight mix. Camilo Miranda twists Noche De Verano into a warm up club cut, respectfully keeping the original tone and adding a subtle italo-disco bass riff and synth stabs,

This is a release perfect for the on-coming warmer months; five tracks designed for dancing under the sun and stars alike where finally we will once again come together with our friends to experience life and music x.

PREMIERE: Residentes Balearicos - Noche De Verano [Shades Of Sound Recordings]

The plane meandered slowly against a backdrop of blue, it weaved between the clouds like some sort of lost fly dancing beneath the sun. On board there were all sorts of wild and wonderful people, they were travelling to a new future overseas under the sky. Some slept, others looked out upon the view down beneath, watching as they flew forth over mountains, oceans and forests. The sky was alive with the sound of the great engines as the plane careered between time zones and into unchartered territory. 

Talking Drums have always been a firm favourite, they always tease the dancefloor with playful melodies, fantastic edits and percussive workouts and represent the fun, feel good enthusiasm which dance music should be all about in the truest sense. Their new EP features two tracks of sun kissed fun destined for good times this summer. Tip!

Daniel Monaco is a musician who defies definition. An artist who is as comfortable strumming a bass as he is bending waveforms on his synths, this is a creative that guarantees something unique. Tu Sei Pazza more than meets that guarantee. The title track is an instant classic. Soft burbling basslines float around a steady kick before daring brass sections are punctuated by scaling xylophone lines. Somewhere between late 70s lounge music and strikingly modern disco, this piece will put a smile on any face. Whodamanny lands on the flip and takes the original to moonbase five via Studio 54. Tempos are reduced as a path of cosmic laser-funk is taken by the amazingly versatile Naples producer. A cracking close to a 7” that packs a real punch.

Second release of the new Belarusian label Estetika is a deep italo house affair by a young local artist Sergei Zharkov. Four originals are supplemented by two remixes veering off into adjacent musical territories. Schmoltz provides the safari ride version to the mediterranean pastels of the "Parallel Connection" putting aside the classica italia tropes in favor of the almost esoteric landscape of tribal rhythms and psychedelic atmospheres, twists and turns.

On a rainy late September day in the mid eighties, 7 year old Phillip Lauer didn't know what to expect from that little new born G, who was referred to as his brother Jacob. On the other hand, Baby Jacob wasn't very sure of what to make of this - back then still sporty - youngster either, who behaved like his boss. To make a short story long... it took them almost 30 years to finally find out - behind the helm of the infamous Pyramide 2 Studio when conducting this fine piece of home made dance music: the Brudis EP.

The first edit we would like to share is this downtempo beauty from JK and Movement 1 - Natural Pink. 

Found it very cheap in a dusty box in the center of Madrid between some of the most tasteless records we had ever seen in a long time. 

You can easily put your hands on this vinyl if you do a quick search on Discogs so, no big deal right? 

Oh yes there is! We decided to give these tracks a second perspective by combining them, using the powerful and deep intro of the ‘Rap version’ with the development and energy of the ‘Strong version’, that finally resulted in one perfect track guided by that voice that invites you to sit back, open your heart, relax and listen. 

Seems impossible to not get lifted tho!

Listening to the different versions of the “Tell Me That You Wait” maxi single from Culture Beat, we really got into this bomb, the “Airdrome Mix Club” version.

This powerful downtempo beat feels like a bit disturbed by Lana E and Jay Supreme's voices. We mean, they sound good but just not our thing since we wanna get you & us in a particular state of trance that we love.

So now you can imagine what we did here: Vocals out and let the beat take control, accentuating string parts that really lead into the trip!

Culture Beat - Tell Me That You Wait (EOE edit)

It can now be revealed. Anonymous internet supergroup Drugface is going public, unmasking themselves as Multi Culti audio-visionary Thomas Von Party and Montreal cult legend John Shape, who absorbed the life rights to the Beaver Sheppard Story in an online game of Russian Roulette. If you’re reading this, the Von Party element probably makes so much sense that you’ll never forgive yourself for not realizing it sooner. The vibes, the production; it was there the whole time.  Eagle-eared listeners may have ID’d Shape from his Ricardo Villalobos-produced remix pack on Sei Es Drum, or as the singer in German instrumental band Brandt Brauer Frick. Those who guessed both members are now on some kind of list.

“In the Clouds” is the latest single from the secretly prolific duo, a synaesthetic window into a realm where everything tastes like data and everything sounds like mushrooms. B-side “On the Prowl” is a collaboration with Multi Culti vitamin-shaman Dreems, with the results entrusted to Finnish synth-lord Jori Hulkkonen to ensure everything holds up 9,000 years from now. 

For the remixes, Simple Symmetry pull you through a wormhole to the sunny beaches of Moscow, The Beat Escape add massive doses of class and elegance. We tested these descriptions on 50 tastemaker chimps, and all 50 were still at least “somewhat jazzed” about hearing the tracks anyway.

And of course it goes without saying that Multi Culti is proud to present this.

Drugface - On The Prowl (Featuring Dreems)

We are really diggin the stuff of Frank Natale aka Professor Trance lately. He was a teacher and natural healer from the US that made a lot of fresh music back in the 90’s

In this edit we remove those shamanic chants in the track that (in our opinion) don’t fit it really well nowadays, especially for club use.

So we select the best parts and make a progression with them to have the result of an absolute banger for those who love real trance music, guided by the rhythm and the breathing.

All of his stuff sounds interesting to us, so if you like this track we recommend you to take a listen to the full thing on Discogs.

Glasgow's finest imprint Invisible, Inc. enters the new year and new decade with a wide and firm gait releasing a 4th track EP, from the French born and yet Glsgow based duo Double Discone, called 'Géant de Fer'. Our pick up is opening track 'Espionage Industriel' which sounds like an imaginary theme tune for a 70s TV crime thriller gone wrong in which the detectives have been spiked with acid. PREMIER #766 | Double Discone - Espionage Industriel [Invisible, Inc.] 2019

When reaching the heart of darkness alley and staring into the bassbins, feeling the low frequency soundwaves pounding rhythmically into the chest, there is only one thing you can do and that is to allow the kick drum to carry you away, it doesn't even matter where.
Alvaro Cabana takes control here and made an epic, otherworldly electro-acid beast which kicks hard and deliberate, hi hats that slice like switchblades and attack laden bleeps that bite hard into your cranium. This one builds and builds and builds peaks but somehow remains cool, synth-esque stabs, congas and toms decorate it like sugarskulls with pads on the breakdown wonky synths and heavy distorted appregio just before the drop kicks in. Six and a half minutes of an epic stomper which will surely carry you away. Just remember, you're safe in the dark alley, for now.

A new philosophy as time enters a radical history of our evolution.  Being and nothingness in one, creatures of habit, the angels of nature, we can herald a new humanity.

DJN4 enters in homage.  Optimus Yarnspinner.  Edification through music bends, but does not break the untameable lost voices.  This dissolution of ego, where culture exemplifies the principle of innovation through excess, the nocturnal brain sees only what it seeks.    

The order of time is more than a conspiracy of the people, this enforced interlude does not mean culture’s end.  Our culture, music’s culture, acts as a genome, a graffiti of society.   

The psy, the rave, the sounds, the species, the food of the gods.  Alpha Juno, Cyclon 303, mutable instruments and ideas collated, N4’s modern mysticism to harness the Earth as a being of sound.  This occult features an anarchism, offering us a collective immortality, allowing us, showing us, how to be more humane.  

Across eight tracks, our DJ weaves a journey to the inner and outer digi sphere, a two-year search, in to steppas, out of dub, evoking legitimate synthesis and sensibility. Look beyond Zamonia.  The lost Chord.  An alien dreamtime.  Tales of Z.
