Ben Falgoust of Goatwhore (07-10-2015) Interview

The Compound Recs, in conjunction with Terror Cult Records, is very pleased to unveil the debut release from New Orleans-based hardcore punk collective CLASSHOLE.

Featuring a varied cast of miscreants hailing from such acts as Eyehategod, Hawg Jaw, Outlaw Order, The Mystick Krewe Of Clearlight, Mountain Of Wizard, Mangina, Tire Fire, haarp and more, CLASSHOLE will unleash their self-titled full-length next month, just in time to ruin the New Year.

Leaving poetics to the wayside, CLASSHOLE spews forth a corrosive blast of combative angst with every enraged second of the production. The band’s venomous output is the product of its surroundings in more ways than one. The riotous ways of the members’ collective output and the bustling, diverse New Orleans metal underworld being fueled by societal corruption on every level makes for fifteen mutinous tracks of filthy hardcore punk revolt.

Already released in a limited vinyl run as the maiden release for the band’s own Terror Cult Records, Classhole will now see a full-on CD release through The Compound Recs., with a four-panel digipak version featuring an alternate layout and a lyric liner, and bonus video of the band performing five vicious tunes from the record live in NOLA.

Classhole will be officially unveiled on January 1st, 2016.

in a period of downtime from the band Agalloch, Jason Walton wanted to write a strange and abrasive record; the aim was to record an album that pushed on the paradigms within metal. The result is a cohesive and challenging album that draws from seemingly disparate ideas and styles. Initially slated be a full-length album, Walton realized that he complexity and density of the material encourages listening in small dosage, and SNARES OF SIXES’ Yeast Mother: An Electroacoustic Mass EP was finalized. Often difficult, frequently nightmarish, SNARES OF SIXES’ output easily ranks as one of Walton's more challenging and oblique offerings, and for the listeners, one of his most fascinating. Features Marius Sjøli and Robert Hunter (Hollow Branches), Andy Winter (Winds), Pete Lee (Lawnmower Deth), Nathanaël Larochette (Musk Ox), and Don Anderson (Agalloch, Sculptured), among others. Recorded all over the world, the record was mixed at Earth in Sound Studios by Jason Walton, mastered by James Plotkin, and features graphics by Marius Sjoli and artwork by Aesop Dekker.
