Tierra Y Libertad, the anxiously awaited third LP from Pomona, California’s XIBALBA, is out this week on Southern Lord Recordings.
Bearing an impressive arsenal of recordings amassed since 2010, including notable splits, EPs, demos and two prior LPs, each chapter of XIBALBA’s recorded bloodline to date has seen the band expand upon their dense, hateful sound, and their third LP, Tierra Y Libertad, proves to follow this ominous path. With some of the band’s most savage death metal-fueled hardcore and decimating breakdowns to date, XIBALBA still continues to impress with new atmospheric tones and harrowing elements without straying from their unstoppable warpath. With nearly forty-four minutes of unrelenting revolutionary violence, Tierra Y Libertad was recorded by Taylor Young (Nails, Twitching Tongues, Disgrace) at The Pit in Van Nuys, as with their lauded Hasta La Muerte LP, and the cover art as well following the path of Hasta with the employment of Dan Seagrave (Dismember, Entombed, Suffocation) for Tierra Y Libertad’s cover artwork.
Southern Lord will issue Tierra Y Libertad on CD, LP and digital outlets on January 26th in Europe and the 27th in North America.

Ben Falgoust of Goatwhore (07-10-2015) Interview

The Compound Recs, in conjunction with Terror Cult Records, is very pleased to unveil the debut release from New Orleans-based hardcore punk collective CLASSHOLE.

Featuring a varied cast of miscreants hailing from such acts as Eyehategod, Hawg Jaw, Outlaw Order, The Mystick Krewe Of Clearlight, Mountain Of Wizard, Mangina, Tire Fire, haarp and more, CLASSHOLE will unleash their self-titled full-length next month, just in time to ruin the New Year.

Leaving poetics to the wayside, CLASSHOLE spews forth a corrosive blast of combative angst with every enraged second of the production. The band’s venomous output is the product of its surroundings in more ways than one. The riotous ways of the members’ collective output and the bustling, diverse New Orleans metal underworld being fueled by societal corruption on every level makes for fifteen mutinous tracks of filthy hardcore punk revolt.

Already released in a limited vinyl run as the maiden release for the band’s own Terror Cult Records, Classhole will now see a full-on CD release through The Compound Recs., with a four-panel digipak version featuring an alternate layout and a lyric liner, and bonus video of the band performing five vicious tunes from the record live in NOLA.

Classhole will be officially unveiled on January 1st, 2016.
