Lua Preta (@luapreta) is an Angolan/Polish duo that has taken the global bass scene by storm in the past few years. Since the end of 2017 they managed to put out a series of successful releases, play a great deal of well-received shows at festivals and clubs all over Europe (plus two gigs in New York), shoot a bunch of music videos (one of them being filmed in Lisbon) and catch attention of @brankoofficial himself who remixed their song for his renowned 'Enchufada Na Zona' compilation. In 2020 they went on to prepare a debut album called 'Diaspora' - a seven tracks collection showcasing their characteristic catchy Afro sound which included 'Baile Lotus' (played by Diplo in his BBC Radio 1 show), 'Vim Para Vencer' (collaboration with South African rapper Robin Thirdfloor) and 'Drena' (featured in an official Spotify playlist by Adidas).

Now five of the songs from the last year's release come back with new versions prepared by producers from five different countries. United States' @tonyquattro highlights Ms. Gia's vocals from 'Drena' and freshens up the beat by adding guitar riffs and swirling flutes. @djraff, one of the most important electronic music artists from Chile, skilfully slows down 'Baile Lotus' and in an unexpected turn of events pairs it with cumbia turning the track into a Latin-flavoured beauty. Further into the release, Africa's star producer @gafacci adds his signature style to the instrumental side of 'Ao Som Dos Homens' - but don't worry: Ghanaian's famous 'shut your mouth I beg eh' vocal hook is very much there.

'Diaspora Remixes' finishes off with two remixes by European artists. Firstly, original vocals take the centre stage again in the club-ready rework of 'Sente Batida' by respected Italian producer @lamentomusic. Last but not least, French drum master @ruffkaval provides a perfect closing track with his wonderfully crafted version of 'RTE' which has been enriched by additional thumping patterns and... birdsongs.

Having released the popular ‘Voces’ on Earthly Tapes 03, DJ Raff is back on Earthly Measures for his first full EP on the label – expect Afro - Latin Tropical rhythms with a sprinkle of Acid throughout!

"Aquí Voy" is a collage of samples made up to create a tropical atmosphere with a constant bed of wiggly sub-basses that serve as the basis for the dissonant melodies of the Berimbau, the main instrumental within the track.

The title track 'Crudo' is a cross between Acid House and Percussive Afro-Latin rhythms. The track begins slowly with a rain of chants and percussions that give way to a storm of heavy kicks and a constant distorted 303, rounded off by soft Marimba melodies. Peak dance-floor vibes.

The Lo-fi Nostalgia Por Un Sample puts together samples of old scratch records whilst sampling vinyl that Raff used in the early 2000s to DJ in Hip Hop and Funk bands.

About ALMHD (instrumental)

ALMHD is a track created by Pablo after woke up one summer day of 2021, for this reason the name came from Almohada (Pillow), continuing the energy of the dreams, inspired on chill lofi sounds with reggaeton groove, to dance dreaming on a beach from latinamérica.

It is the first single by Don Plok after his first European Tour, as the first release of his next album, in a collaboration between the Folcore and Rebel Up labels. Mixed at Nogal Estudio and Oídos Contentos, mastered at Oídos Contentos by Manuel Schaller, producer of the album with Pablo.

The next singles will feature important international featurings, such as Soom T. Each month a new single will be released prior to the release of the album in digital and vinyl format, which will be published at the end of April or beginning of May, anticipating their next European Tour.

About Don Plok

Don Plok is the artistic alias of Pablo Carpignano (1986), a producer, DJ and music percussionist based in Southern Gran Buenos Aires With over 13 years of experience, founder of Guateque Soundz collective and Dunumba Soundsystem.

His influences going from latin american folk, dub, electronic music and the cumbias of his teenage years, but with a clear philosophical foundation on Afro music and his sincretism regarding urban latin tendencies.

Acerca de Don Plok

Don Plok es productor, DJ y percusionista con base en la Zona Sur de GBA, con 13 años de experiencia. Fundador de Guateque Soundz y Dunumba Soundsystem, con influencias que pasan por bass music, folclores latinoamericanos, diversos géneros de electronica y las cumbias de de su adolescencia, pero con una clara base estético-filosófica en la música de raíz afro - y su sincretismo para con las corrientes urbanas de latinoamérica. Sus álbums y singles, sirven como testimonio de una exploración sonora que lo lleva a mezclar ritmos modernos con patrones tradicionales africanos; samples de vinilos, percusión y sintetizadores, con un destacado estilo personal que se ve en sus presentaciones.

Em conceito biológico, Simbiose retrata relações de dependência para sobrevivência entre duas espécies diferentes, sendo então uma associação permanente.
Refletindo para nós, seres humanos, podemos então pensar na importância da preservação de todo e qualquer ambiente, no qual contém milhões dessas relações que são destruídas e mortas todos os dias. E isso nos afeta diretamente.

No dia 16 de novembro é comemorado o aniversário de Murillo Faleiros (@mandruvamusic).
Início/fim de um ciclo, mais uma volta ao redor do sol, celebração de vitórias, derrotas, aprendizados, conhecimentos e vivências. We live and depend on each other to build us and build around us together. So it is in all of nature and its breadth. We are surrounded by these interdependent relationships, many of which we don't even know, are called Symbiosis.
In a biological concept, “Symbiosis” portrays dependency relations for survival between two different species, being then a permanent association.
Reflecting for us, human beings, we can then think about the importance of preserving each and every environment, in which it contains millions of these relationships that are destroyed and killed every day. And it affects us directly.
Let's celebrate life!

On November 16th, Murillo Faleiros' birthday (@mandruvamusic) is celebrated.
Start / end of a cycle, one more lap around the sun, celebration of victories, defeats, learnings, knowledge and experiences. Especially in the troubled year of 2020, the idea arises to start a new project: a compilation among artist friends. And in this first edition, it will be in celebration of that special day.

Visual artist Gabriel Engster with his project @ a.la.gabs.art that signs the new series of covers of Bioma, started from imagery references of cacti and body parts as inspiration for the drawings, and then abstract them in multiple experimental compositions of graphic art correlated to the sounds of each release.
