Raik feat. Henri "Hold Me E.P." (Golden City Sounds 002)

The double A-side EP, Hold Me, is Golden City Boy Raik's debut release. Raik founded the Hamburg-based label, Golden City Sounds, with German house legends Boris Dlugosch and Isi Tüfekci (otherwise known as one half of Digitalism) in March 2013. Hold Me is the label's third release, following Dlugosch's Look Around You single, featuring Roísín Murphy (Moloko), and Polargeist + Kruse + Nuernberg's Good Times, a deep house, feel-good anthem of the summer.

For the first track, Hold Me, Raik teamed up with Henri aka Henrietta Tiefenthaler, producer, DJ and also singer in the psychedelic Krautrock band Thrillionaire. With her romantic, dystopian lyrics, Henri's hypnotic vocal delivery gives an emotional depth to this slice of shimmery, pop-electronica.

The second track, La Musique, is a euphoric club tune, a perfect counterbalance to the more rhapsodic melancholia of Hold Me. With its hooky synth line, infectious groove, and sexy French spoken word vocal, its arrangement is flawless and guaranteed to suck you into its retro-futuristic world.

This long-awaited EP will be sure to deliver on the expectation.

When music magicians come together the inevitable result is magic and that's exactly what 'Chasing Thoughts' brings you. Steyoyoke's latest three track EP comprises of one original and two remixes. It features a collaboration from Talul and label icon Soul Button, with remix duties falling to Tony Casanova and Sasch. 

The title track 'Chasing Thoughts' instantly draws you in and carries you along a thrumming heart beat style bass line. It's undeniably uplifting, with its beautiful melodies and playful synths that slip and slide all over you. 'Chasing Thoughts' is smooth and intensely hypnotic. 

Tony Casanova chooses a healthy dose of tech house to infuse with his version of 'Chasing Thoughts'. His flavours are 100% dirty, with crisp clean edges and a splash of delicious dub, making it infectious to the ear. 

The final track on the EP is Sasch's remix, which takes 'Chasing Thoughts' down a path way full of pure deep disco sounds. Possessing 80's style riffs, phat house grooves and not one but two bassline drops, it is a definite dance floor pleaser.

We're excited to welcome Paul2Paul to Ready Mix Records for his first release on the label, a special two track package featuring remixes from Hernan Cerbello, Khaaron, John Gham and Fishmanta.

Opening track 'Gravity' is a deeply moving slice of classically influenced deep house, laden with lush string chords, subtle pianos and evocative atmospherics, showcasing the special talent that's placed this 30 year old producer firmly on the global stage.

Argentinian production powerhouse Hernan Cerbello delivers the first remix of 'Gravity', introducing hypnotic arpeggios and a moody, rolling groove to appeal to more of a late night audience.

Formerly known as Robert R. Hardy and D.M.P., Khaaron introduces his brand new guise with a reflective, languid reworking of 'Gravity', tweaking heartstrings with just the right dose of melancholy.

Paul2Paul's second original track 'A Hidden Dream' feels like a comforting movie flashback sequence, with smooth piano chords over warm pads and a lazy, head-nodding rhythm.

Berlin's John Gham turns in a deep, synth-laden revision of 'A Hidden Dream', staying true to the original's musicality, whilst giving it an energetic twist.

Last but certainly not least, rising Turkish production star Fishmanta heads into melodic progressive house territory, with a percussive and engaging version that hides something approaching euphoria within its filtered peaks.

Your Bio (Important): DJ for various occasions till the age of 25, I always loved electro-music till my life changed and turned to be more demanding, leading me to stop mixing. However, I stayed attentive to the world of electronic music, and more specifically to the « lounge » and « deep house » style played at the Buddha Bar, which remains for me a source of inspiration.
Allowing me to be in direct contact with thousands of people, the 2018 and 2019 techno parades gave me the opportunity and motivation to go back to the turntables, while triggering my return into the electro-music world. I was then able to mix sounds accumulated for years, turning the whole thing into an incredible experience. I now produce my own pieces of Deep House, Tech House, and Lounge, using tones reminiscent of the Middle and the Far East, Eastern Europe, and India. I am just at the beginning of a new and fascinating adventure.
