Only One

When we found out my granddaddy was sick this past August, his family and friends flocked to him. Every day he didn't go without a visitor, whether he liked it or not. One day, my cousin Hannah and I were sitting with him at his kitchen table. He was eating lasagna, and telling stories. Then he said, "you know, not only did I look like Elvis Presley, but I could sing like him too." He turned and yelled, "Alexa, play 'The Wonder of You' by Elvis Presley," and music filled the room. We sat there, quietly emotional, as he sang along. Not more than 2 months later he passed away, and I wanted to find a song to sing at his funeral, knowing I would be no use at articulating the words myself. Listening to the song again, I found in the lyrics a perfect sentiment of the love he showed his family, and the love all 22 of us, and many many more, have for him. With the help of my friend Jenn, I recorded this cover as a gift to my family for Christmas. We miss you, granddaddy.

The working title of this song was 'Libya' and I wrote it shortly after watching a harrowing documentary on the plight of migrants trapped there. The whole song only took about 8 hours to write, record and mix - compared to most of my other tracks these days, that's incredibly short - however it is always much, much easier to finish a song if I have a pre-conceived and clear idea of what the lyric and music is about, and in this case it was straightforward. Kalmireddy Nikhil aka Kalmi is a Visakhapatnam based producer whose latest single 'Duduksa' is an ambient electronica track inspired by the sounds of the Duduk, an ancient double reed woodwind instrument made of apricot wood. The track is a fusion of Duduk, Harps, Glockenspiel, Strings, Piano and Tabla. Kalmi's music is an unique blend of ethnic instruments with the undertones of bass music.

Easy Wanderlings is a musical journal of their cherished memories about soulful conversations, escapades into the majestic wilderness, and of the feelings felt when spending quiet evenings at home. 

The journey began in mid-2015, and since then they have been creating an amalgamation of ambient pop, soul, and folk music.  In August 2017, they launched their debut album, As Written in the Stars  internationally on all major music platforms.
