To mark World Oceans Day 2021, we partnered with Concentric Records, TBA-21-Academy and Ocean Archive for a full day of broadcasts based on and inspired by sounds from the oceans.

 The incredible Ocean Archive is a sound library of the seas and harbours of the world, from Galapagos to the North Atlantic. It includes many types of whale, fish, earthquake, seismic explosions, methane seeps, tectonic plates and deep water drilling.

 The artists invited to make broadcasts based on this archive are Jake Muir, Izabel, Beluga, Carl Michael von Hausswolff / Dark Morph, Baby Vulture, Terrence Dixon, Jana Winderen reporting live from the seas, and finally Refuge Worldwide programmer Richard Akingbehin.

Theories is a Colombian visual artist and music collector with a wide selection of sounds ranging from ambient, leftfield, techno, electro, industrial to drum and bass. She is DJing since 2013. In the mix she did for us, every second shows the deep knowledge she has gained since then in regards to selecting the unusual. For Metamorphosen she created an ice-cool mix, where sliding through all kinds of genres and speeds sounds like the most natural thing in the world.
With her project @automagicalley, theories creates spaces to spread alternative forms of live music and art in Bogotá, making this big city an even more diverse and inspirational place for weirdo connoisseurs.

Metamorphosen 15 | theories

For the grand finale of our ://about blank Tribute we invited our long time friend Ahu who also happens to be part of the technical crew of the club we call our home. Ahu is also running one of the most inspiring labels, Shahr Farang, and collabortates occasionally with Warning resident Erik Jäähalli. His closing set here is also the most diverse of all contributions. With this set reflects not only the diversity of Ahu as a DJ and musician but also gives a great example of how a Warning party could sound if it would be distilled to the time of one and half hour.

"Unexpectedly, the track is based around a chord from a song often played on the radio during the Second World War. The sample has been manipulated - it almost feels as if the music disappears into the mist. The title references the green flare shot into the sky that allied bomber squadrons took as a signal for take-off. (In case of a red light, they were to turn their engines off and run back to their quarters.) Hence the saying: "Up goes the green flare."”
