Nemesis Chapter 2

Word of this devastation reached the ears of Ean - Dragon Slayer, a legendary protector whose name echoed through the annals of the realm. Known for his unmatched courage and skill in battling mythical beasts, Ean was whispered to possess the strength of a thousand men and the determination of a lion.

Driven by a profound sense of duty, he embarked on a perilous quest to the capital, where the dragon's wrath had been most fiercely felt. As he ascended the treacherous slopes of Mount Bas, the sight that greeted him was one of utter devastation.

The once-magnificent city lay in ruins, its grandeur replaced by a haunting emptiness. Buildings crumbled, their vibrant colors faded to a dull gray. The streets, once filled with life and laughter, were now eerily silent, save for the mournful cries of those who had lost everything.

Undeterred, Ean pressed on, his heart heavy with sorrow but his resolve unwavering. He knew that Stregoi, the fearsome dragon, must be vanquished if the realm was to be saved from its tyrannical rule.

With a deep breath, Ean prepared himself for the ultimate battle, his sword gleaming in the fading light. The fate of the realm rested on his shoulders, and he was determined to emerge victorious, no matter the cost.

Neurofunk was born inside machines. Oscillators, samplers, circuits and code. But the systems surrounding it hardened. Tracks became property. Artists became brands. Listeners became audiences.

The illustration of our world through the power of association, crossing space and time through the vibration of molecules that surround us and entering intimately through our ears, or through the valleys of our eyes - setting in motion sequences at a scale that reach far into our existence. The media descend with ravenous hunger upon the minds of the weak, turning human beings into simple ideological vessels, machines that regurgitate the lies of the very people that feed on them. We have been sabotaged and infiltrated with a deadly code, one that turns humans into slaves, into killers, that divides and disconnects us to leave as at the mercy of bitter social surgeons and eats the very time of our existence. But we offer hope - they are the few, we are the many - the system relies on us to subjugate ourselves, to build our own chains under the pressure of cultural normality, and using the media’s scorn to discredit the very real alternatives that allow us to slip outside the system. We, the Fifth Column, flow invisible through this network, erasing the language malware that has infected untold numbers. Language from the heart connects us, words can free and inspire us, and the weight of the bass reminds us of our power. It’s time to eradicate and liberate.

The remnants of the great battle lay strewn as shreds across the meadow, the multi-faceted carcass of a climatic moment of a conflict long forgotten. The remains of those who had fought for their respective worthless causes now overshadowed by the bleak visage of fate. Legends spoke of the battle as the only one known to have occured with no victor. Each warrior slain on one side was said to be repaid by the death of his equal on the other, as though the melee was arbitrated by some unnatural force. At the battle’s termination there remained none but the two great leaders of the factions, who continued their personal onslaught through the strength of their intense hatred alone. Amongst the corpses of their compatriots they dueled, equally matched in both skill and fury and finally, equally they fell, each slipping his opponent’s guard in the same instant, as both felt their sword plunge through the other’s heart. The place was twice cursed it was told, once by the unnatural force that had presided over the slaughter, and once by the slaughter itself. Unlike most of their kind, these legends held truth, for this field was the lair of the malevolent AGRESSOR.

The being had lurked there from time immemorial, its existence a relic of a long forgotten age. Condemned to this waste for its timeless aggression, it had lingered on beyond the disappearance of its kind. Its hunger for anguish lured countless warriors to its meadow, their conflict a delectable feast for the spirit unseen. From each fallen fighter was riven its emotion, strengthening the being as it continued to feed. The magnitude of the battle had sated it for some time, and it would slumber again through multiple ages of man until that hunger arose once again… and when it did, the DEATH MEADOW would lure souls afresh.
