The depth of the forest was unknown to those who lived at its verge. Shadows cast from the dense canopy seemed to reach out towards those who passed close by, wisps of darkness unfurling and twisting around the limbs of the youngest that dared to play at its sinister edge. The oldest stories of its roots passed across the creaking voices of the town pensioners hunched in the safety of others, discretely whispered and shot through with fearful looks. The allure of that dense and ancient place stretched back eternal, and bitter consequence waited for those who breached its dark heart.  The crew ignored the nonsense of such crones, pulling the carts of equipment under the cover of dusk until the sounds of the town were but a memory. The speaker stacks were raised against the night, strings of lights hung between the trees and purity of disturbed bass rolled against the surrounding trunks as they disentangled themselves from the mundane fiber of the lives they left behind. Twisting against one another as they let flood serotonin delight, they ignited an orgy of sonic symbiosis as the rave found its wings and took flight. The spores drifted imperceptibly into the clearing from the darkness around, lodging without discomfort in the eyes, ears and noses of the gathered young. And then the screaming started, the undulating mass of the gathering turned inward… devouring itself as limbs were separated from bodies, necks ripped as skin tore loose and the blood flowed freely over the gnashing faces of those left alive at the KILL PARTY… 
  
GYDRA return to EATBRAIN in force, following up their well-received CYBORG EP with the dynamic, darkly driven but funk-laced assault of the KILL PARTY EP. From the old-school drenched piano and ultrafunk of the title track, to the playful sinister intent of PRIMITIVE INSTINCT, the filthy sub explorations of PROBLEM and the predatory sensibilities of IKRA – the 4 tracks within display the dynamic and exploratory character of the production outfit. This is Russian neurofunk at its finest, delivered on the platform that’s tailored exactly to the premiere kinetic nature of its content.

Amidst a vast lattice of cable & wire, a sole individual worked with inhuman fervour at his craft, bearing forth a constant flow of invention unto the dismal depths of his laboratory. He had sequestered himself here in this catacomb of creation with single-minded purpose, devoted entirely to a code of his own as he endeavoured towards all that had not been done before. Without thought for life or limb he set himself frantically to his craft. Before him, every vial was an opportunity, every electrical surge a moment of bliss, and every elemental synthesis a pathway forwards into the unknown.

For weeks, months, and even years the individual worked at a feverish pace, a hermit within an ever growing den of discarded reagents and the husks of former inventions repurposed for a greater cause. For all of his creations, such time alone had begun to take its toll upon the man, and as it marched on new thoughts came to his mind. “Escape....” came first, “I must show them the way” then came second, bearing upon him with an inescapable force. With his frenzy now turned outwards the inventor burst forth from the doors of his laboratory, clutching a variety of inventions in his grasp. Bathed in the light of the world beyond, the inventor sprinted into the street, shouting of his miracles as his SANITY TRIP drove his feet.

NUKLEAR debuts his first full artist EP on EATBRAIN with SANITY TRIP. Long known as a premiere MC within the neurofunk scene, NUKLEAR has appeared on multiple collaborations across EATBRAIN as well as RAM Records, Virus, and Viper. A young boy walked through the halls of his family’s house, treading with dread upon the creaking floorboards on the way towards his bedroom. With his face turned downwards into a frown, the boy wished to return to his old home, which had not creaky floors nor the strange smell of ages worn into its walls. His parents had called this new house “historic” and a good “fixer-upper”, but such thoughts were lost on the boy who thought only of comforts he had once known. The boy’s dog too seemed to share this opinion, barking at shadows and peering worriedly into such places as the basement which terrified the boy. Thus, the boy was pleased to see that his canine confidant lay curled at the foot of his bed as he entered his room, though his attention quickly focused itself upon new inhabitant: a pristine teddy bear that sat at the base of his closet.

With youthful wonderment the boy picked up the stuffed animal as a smile spread across his face. As he resolved to thank his parents for what could only be their gift, the boy heard a voice from the bear itself. “Hello my new friend” said the bear with a smile “Why don’t you sit down, lets play a while.” At the sound of this voice the dog awoke with a start, confusing the boy with a fearsome growl directed at the new toy. “Oh don’t be so jealous,” the bear snapped back “two is better than one in case monsters attack.” At the sound of this word the boy thought to check the closet for such things, which liked to hide there in old homes such as his. As he timidly cracked open the closet the bear spoke once more, “Don’t you worry yourself my new friend, that’s what I am here for!”. With closet door now ajar the dog let out a bellowing bark, and just before it slammed shut the boy peered into the dark. He was aghast as he saw a strange tentacle which seemed to run from his new toy into the darkness beyond. Feeling his distress the bear spoke at last with finality “Trust me young child, no monster will be your end. I’ve dealt with them all because WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS.”

One summer Sunday an all-white Cadillac sped down the highway, glistening under the rain of sunbeams that fell upon its exquisitely polished surface. Within its luxurious velour interior sat a single woman dressed in her Sunday best, a gown of lilac white bedecked with rosaries and other jewelry of exquisite beauty. Though aged, the woman sat with a characteristic grace that evidenced her proper upbringing, and her hands rested calmly at ten and two upon the vehicle’s steering wheel. Fresh from worship, her thoughts drifted to her grandchildren and the cookies she would prepare for them when she arrived home until they were interrupted in a manner she deemed most uncouth as another vehicle sped past her, honking its horn in a taunt before squeezing into place just ahead of her own.

With the selfsame grace of her being, the woman sighed to herself and reached into her vehicles glove compartment, procuring from within a forty-four caliber handgun. Upon looking up, she noticed that the vehicle before her had slowed to an unreasonable velocity, forcing her to travel at a speed that would prevent her from having her baking done on time for her grandchildren. At this thought the woman’s demeanor began to shift considerably, and her face contorted into a rage filled grin. Pressing the gas pedal of her vehicle to the floor, she shot out from her lane and saddled up alongside the offending vehicle. Rolling down her hand-crank windows with a supernatural vigour, she lowered her sunglasses to reveal a pair of piercing obsidian eyes to the driver beside her. “Alright alright,” she seethed at him “I think you’ve had your fun”. At her sight he shrieked and in fear exclaimed “That grandma’s got a gun!’ .

Longtime EATBRAIN collaborators L 33 & MC COPPA return to the label to debut the newest release from their joint project LIGHTS OUT with the ROADS OF RAGE EP. Formed of the pair’s shared enjoyment of high octane Drum & Bass pared with an energetic vocal layer, LIGHTS OUT have recently burst onto the scene in full force with multiple performances, mixes, and a debut release on their namesake label Lights Out Audio. Much time had passed since that first moment of DIVERGENCE, in which one had sacrificed the joys of his existence for the betterment of all. Where once a man had stood, now a great tree remained, presiding over the village with the commanding presence of its incredible size. For years the magic of its boughs had shielded those below from harm, but time had worn upon its trunk and the wards that it projected now threatened to falter at the onslaught of the spirits that had long thrown themselves at the border. A single life, it seemed, could not keep evil at bay for all eternity. This fact was known to the council of the village below, and as the great tree began to slip from the world, they set in motion a further plan.

In the depths of one of the great mountains that surrounded the village, its every inhabitant worked tirelessly, hewing and hauling the stone bones of the earth out from the grand chamber they were constructing. At its center, the village’s most skilled artisans worked diligently, inscribing the face of a great obelisk with runes and symbols in a language known to none of them. Night and day the village toiled, until at the final strike of a pickaxe they heard a most ominous sound. A pained groan uttered its way through the valley, followed by the thunderous impact of what could only be the felling of the great tree. The villagers cowered within the cavern, watching in horror as the spirits of evil began to flit about the ceiling above them. Yet as all seemed lost each spirit that had entered the chamber was wrenched downwards, its essence bound to the great obelisk, which trapped their visages in caricatures of agony upon its surface. Though the flood of spirits seemed unending, each and every one soon found itself within a similar stone prison as the dissonant howls of these creatures of evil faded into nothingness within its earthly being. At this sight, the village rejoiced whilst remembering the one who had sacrificed much for them. Though life could not hold back the flood of DIVERGENCE, stone would bind it to its inescapable form.

EATBRAIN their ninth LP with the second release in their DIVERGENCE series, featuring 16 tracks from the many sonic leaders of the label’s vast horde. Within the vast plain of a once feral land glistened a metropolis of undeniable beauty, a monument to those who had triumphed over what had lain in this place before. Brightly as it shone however, the shadows cast by its towering spires told a different story. The creation of such beauty had been an ugly thing indeed, and still within its darkest alleys there were those who remembered what had been and what they had suffered. In secret they met, practitioners of the old ways who stood determined to see the return of the land’s natural state. They had watched the land carefully, seeing what others did not within each passing day’s minute differences. Thus, when the day of their ascendancy at last arrived, their ritual had already begun.

Those living at the city’s outskirts reported it first, a low rumbling that began to shake the heirlooms from their shelves. Quickly this turbulence began to spread through the city, and by the time it had reached the center the metropolis’ reckoning had arrived. A great beast had begun to smash its way through the city’s outlying areas, trampling all in its path with the unrestrained fury of the wilds. With singular intent in charged headlong towards the city’s center, reducing shops and homes to rubble without caution or care. Wrought from the flesh of one of the plain's native creatures, the great beast had been brought forth by the practitioners of the old ways to carry out their righteous vengeance. Thus they cackled as the perpetrators of their subjugation feld beneath its thunderous hooves whilst screaming out a single monstrous name, HOGZILLA.

EATBRAIN veteran Mindscape returns to the label under the newly revised moniker MNDSCP, continuing in the work of his original alias under the novel title with his latest EP on the label. Following the release of his three part Reanimator LP on the label in 2018, MNDSCP now presents HOGZILLA as his latest body of work, setting the stage for future releases under his new alias with four tracks powered by his singularly tech focused sonics.
