Told far and wide are tales of individuals losing themselves within the wills of others, their vital energies coaxed, coerced, and controlled to do the bidding of another who operates their physical form as a master puppeteer. These tales offer abounding descriptions of the evil deeds wrought by such hapless souls, the horrors committed by their own unwilling hand as bent under the force of another. While genuine in their tellings, these stories oft ignore the most horrific aspect of their subject matter, that of the experience endured by the individual whist under the thrall of POSSESSION.

Those who survive such ordeals invariably emerge forever changed, their sense of self warped by the machinations of even the most benign of possessors. Few are those to begin with, and many more bear greater psychic scars. Haunted by the ego of their former master, their dreams, thoughts, and even visions are often clouded by the threads of the psychic link that forever remain. Some are further cursed with recurring compulsions, echoes of the commands once bestowed upon them that visit & prey upon their fragile psyche at random. Forever altered, these individuals wander bereft of their individuality, vestigial forms hollowed out by the power of POSSESSION.

NEMEAN delivers his debut EP with POSSESSION, a four-track work that places the will of the EATBRAIN horde under his control as the four tracks within surge with a psychoacoustic power set to see all who listen enthralled by NEMEAN’S mysterious sonic silhouette.

The appearance of the craft was at first masked by an embankment of clouds above the city center, having swirled in a thunderstorm that precipitated the dread of that fateful evening for the city’s residents. For a craft of such size, its emergence was strangely gradual, slipping sliently as it did through the folds of the clouds. Its grey hull neither reflected light nor absorbed it, appearing instead aberrantly normative against the slate grey skyline of concrete and steel that bore forth the city’s greatest constructions into the sky. It was as though a symbiotic entity born as the city’s match, or one so meticulously crafted as to blend effortlessly above it.

Indeed, the craft simply hovered there for quite some time, attracting a minor amount of attention from those who happened not to be too busy to gaze upwards into the sky. Largely avoiding notice, the unearthly alloys at the center of the craft unfurled gently as the void within them began to glow. It was then that the craft’s benign facade was dropped, as from within its glowing center came suddenly an unearthly cacophony of sound and a beam of light of such intensity that it seemed to permeate into the darkest corners of each and every alleyway. As these twin components found purchase on human ears and flesh their effects were near instantaneous - warping the bodies of those affected into alien forms or simply liquefying the bodies of those whose constitutions could not handle the stress. The entire SKY ROARS event had lasted mere moments - but its perpetrators had succeeded in seeding their kind on Earth forevermore.

VIZZEN makes his return to EATBRAIN with a debut EP that follows his appearance on the label’s recent Divergence V compilation. In unleashing the power of SKY ROARS & the three tracks within, VIZZEN ensures that his name shall reverberate in the ears of the EATBRAIN horde for a long time to come.

Emitted from the deepest reaches of the universe is a tapestry of interwoven electromagnetic spectra for those with the eyes to see it, a collection of purples, reds, blues, and other hues each painted onto the telescopic canvas by the distances that intercede their transmission and reception. Chief amongst these stellar artists are nebulae, swirling gaseous masses from whence are birthed new stars and eventually the planets that shall orbit them, oft referred to as the “stellar nursery” and seen by some as the primeval crucible of all life.

Indeed, these resplendently colorful and churning seas of the universe’s elemental energies bear the responsibility for all life - that which is known and that which lurks unseen alike. Within their depths are born creatures unimaginable, formed beyond any terrestrial realm and independent of the laws that govern the ways of life upon them. Their hulking bodies are rendered on a cosmic scale, growing to gargantuan size amidst the stellar mists in which they find their homes. There they lie in wait for one who may gaze for long enough at such places to unknowingly summon their presence, a feat granting them passage to the plane material and madness upon their woe-begotten observer. Thus has been the fate of many an overaccomplished astrologer who fails to beware the COLOURS OF SPACE and continues on in ignorance of the horrors that lie within.

TASK HORIZON return to EATBRAIN with COLOURS OF SPACE, an EP in which the trio summons forth cosmic soundscapes guaranteed to have a maddening effect on the ears of the EATBRAIN horde.
