The quickly climbing UK based producer, Artifact, drops two room-rattling Neurofunk tunes to mark his first appearance with the Nocid Business brand. Mind bending beats with a captivating ethos is common territory for Artifact and this release lives up to that expectation.

Kickstarting the EP is ‘Unleashed’, a wild track bursting with energy driven by buzzing bass and dark pads that set the ominous tone. This industrial monster is a hard one so prepare to feel the weight of its disposition.

Second on the EP is ‘Dystopia’, a dark techy track that punches with incisive drums and crunchy bass that billows out into the airwaves. This entrancing piece bridges the gap between the robotic and the organic with twanged string melodies, hollow hand drums, and glitched chants engulfed by snarling patches. With an ever-changing presence you may as well keep this one on repeat.

Drum & bass stalwarts Black Sun Empire are to follow up a trio of recent EPs from The Upbeats, Neonlight and Pythius with the release of ‘Until The World Ends’ - a five-track, collaborative EP with NZ duo State Of Mind. To be released on January 26th via their genre-defining Blackout imprint, it marks an exciting start to 2015.

Lead track ‘Ego’ immediately sets the tone with growling bass lines and punchy synth-stabs that underpin dark, techy atmospherics and vocal loops.

Second track ‘Until The World Ends’ proves once again both acts’ enduring versatility - kicking off with a bass-heavy dubstep tones complimented by vocal duties from State Of Mind’s fellow New Zealander PNC, before

switching to a manic, intelligently structured groove for the remainder.

‘Bad’ opens with progressive percussion and softly-worked synths that move euphorically to a pounding drum break, whilst fourth track ‘Jack Nicholson’, featuring an imitable sample of the man himself, is a bass-fuelled shockwave of a track. Final track.

‘Moonbox’ closes the EP in true Blackout fashion, with signature frenetic beats and firing drums rounding off proceedings in style.

Black Sun Empire have built a reputation for curating their own brand of dark, neurofunk-inspired drum & bass over the past 12 months and this collaboration with long term accomplices State Of Mind - whom released their latest album ‘Eat The Rich’ via the label earlier this year - feeds into the hype surrounding Blackout as the label looks ahead to 2015.

Internal connections pulse with electrical activity, opening new pathways and unfurling their tendril-thread map of the universe reflected within. Awareness glides like heavy silk across the mind's deep furrows, the conscious eye compiling fresh sonic prophecies pulled from the farthest reaches of the realms of altered perception. Past melts into the present, erupting into the fragile flame of consciousness, cognition reaching with darkly glimmering arms into the tidal seas of a future wrapped in the deepest of bass frequencies.

HYPOXIA once again emerge from the twisted depths of the EATBRAIN fold to deliver the COGNITION EP. Following up their much-revered ANOVA EP, released on the label in 2015 and garnering widespread praise for their intensely engineered and heavy production aesthetic; the Belgian duo hit hard and true - cementing themselves as part of the Eatbrain family. Featuring 4 tracks of precise neurofunk of the utmost quality that ravers have come to expect from Hypoxia as well as the label, this is an EP that will most certainly be controlling the dance and embedding itself in frenetic dancers' consciousness for months to come.
