Frankee Black Heart / Wonderland

‘Black Heart’ lives up to its name in every single sense. We’d say ‘it does what it says on the tin’ but there is no tin, just an incredible sense of foreboding ghostly doom. Darkness soars through each eastern wail while the rich bassline drives deep into the groove, doubling up towards the builds for extra drama. Peppered with nuances of neuro funk, once again Frankee has shown an understanding of drum & bass dynamics that belies his young years. 

For the ultimate switch-flipper, head to ‘Wonderland’. The complete contrast to ‘Black Heart’, here we find the London producer paying the ultimate homage to drum & bass jungle’s earliest rave carnations. With vibrant, euphoric piano licks, skippy breakbeats and subs so heavy they need their own passport, ‘Wonderland’ is a quintessential example of contemporary rave. As for the emphatic vocal? We can all agree with its sentiments. Music is indeed wonderful – especially when it’s being written by the likes of Frankee.

It's been three years since the man behind Overload, MC Eksman & fellow New Breed Crew partner Majistrate launched their first ground breaking studio mix which still sounds as fresh now as it did when first released.
 
Due to public demand the multi award winning combination are back with a no nonsense, full throttle two part mix series called ‘Independence Day’.  
Eksman crams the new mix full of brand new double time bars and shows why after 16 years of service he is still pioneering and forefront of the scene.

In the summer of 1996 Tupac invited a slew of east coast rappers (Greg Nice, Capital LS, Boot Camp Clik, among them) out to his home in California to record an album with his group, the Outlawz, titled One Nation. The album was to show that Shakur's feud was with Notorious BIG and Bad Boy Entertainment, not the east coast in general. Pac's murder shelved the One Nation project and sadly, it never saw a commercial release. The tracks posted are original recordings that were meant to make up the One Nation album.
