This is the VGM Academy 7day Challenge. This week is 7 songs in 7 days all revolving around Cyberpunk, focusing on making all seven of them flow together into one made up, imagined world of a video game in your head.

This is the fifth track in the seven day challenge. I was able to incorporate tempo changes near the end which I think really add to the whole scene for a car chase. Hope you enjoy!

Car Chase

Day 6 of CyberPunk week. Hold on to your pants. This is a viscous song when listened with headphones high volume. My goal here was to make the player feel like a badass while fighting the boss. Guns-a-blazing. Dodging side to side. Escaping the grasps of the enemy. Reigning victorious in the end.

Tyrant

I Started drums at 5 years old air drumming in the back of my Dads car to Van Halen... Metallica... Rush... Santana.... (his favorites) so my Dad bought me a drum set for that Christmas. I went from VH, to John Mayer, to Nirvana, to Charlie Parker. Mainly alternative as I grew up.

I also spent my childhood with my Dad playing video games (at that time it was the PS2). Ray man, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, Ratchet and Clank 1, 2, 3, and Deadlocked. Tomb Raider was my favorite, the very first game I played when I was six years old. All of the original four from TR: One - TR: The Last Revelation. 

Whenever my Dad or I found a secret in Tomb Raider we would always try to impersonate the melody/lick the composer did. It gave me goosebumps in that game. (Not lying) Walking through an intense part, stumbling upon a clue, it was the perfect jingle for that games atmosphere, it’s aesthetic, it’s style. The Venice Violins was an impressionable moment for me as well. 

I picked up the piano and got hooked to jazz and ambient music. Throw a little hip hop in there, add an extra dead snare and I could play all day.
