The Dr is back with his next dose of dubplates and you can rest assured that ec2a-32 of the Dubplate Collection brings yet another worthy remedy to the turntable. 

Leading as one of the most industrious labels in UK bass right now, ec2a is moving mad with a brand new mix series alongside creative project ‘Original Pirate Material’, showcasing some of the deepest and darkest sounds in the scene. Kingpin, Doctor Dubplate, who recently caused a ruckus at the latest ‘Keep Hush’ gig, shows no sign of slowing down and certainly maintains momentum with this next drop. In light of the previous release, prepare for more unabated jungle.

It may come as a surprise that the artist responsible is London-based FELIXCW as he is predominantly known for his soulful yet weighty left-field garage, recently making his mark in the scene with a number of stylish edits and collaborations with some top tier producers such as Izzie Cofie (IZCO). This release though is a sure-fire switch-up and certainly lends a nod to the Moving Shadow era whilst repping that future-classic jungle sound. 'Tek Dub' (A-side) lures you in with a think-break build-up before thrusting you into an array of the tightest drums and perfectly placed syncopation, whilst adjacent to this is sub-heavy Howla (B-Side) giving off a much deeper feel amongst plenty of wobbles and dub-reggae vocal skits. 

If it’s crispy clean production tekkers, rapid breakbeats, and deep jungle basslines you want, this record is critical to your collection.

For the 45th guest mix in our series, GAB is a little bit too gassed to present the incredible DJ CRISPS. Termed by some as the “Badman From Rotterdam”, DJ CRISPS has established himself as a vital player in the contemporary UKG scene through both his immaculate production and stunning mixes. 

Through releases on Lobster Theremin’s Cheeky Music Group, Shall Not Fade’s Time Is Now, GLBDOM and Jucey Tunes as well as guest mixes on Rinse, Reprezent, The Goodie Room and United Rhythms, DJ CRISPS has demonstrated a true passion for soulful and funk-influenced UK Garage. In what can only be described as a sublime 70-minute showcase, DJ CRISPS’s GAB mix traverses between the old and new schools of UKG, with a particularly breaky ending which is unsurprisingly right up our street.

The duo Two Turntable returns with strong creative energy on their new release, Inspire Me EP, delivering two Liquid Drum and Bass tracks shaped by introspection and sonic experimentation.

The opening track, “My Jazz is Jungle”, acts as a bridge between tradition and innovation: deep, organic basslines intertwine with jazz-inspired improvisations, recreating an atmosphere that nods to the genre’s roots while pushing into contemporary territory.
