There is nothing that gets me bopping and bouncing like UK Garage I will always have a soft spot for those 2-step riddims. When you add top tier producer MPH and Mic Commander Coco you're onto a serious Chicken Dinner. This one was released through 1Forty - a label that NEVER disappoints.

Arkham Sound - If You Only Knew
Those following Arkham Sound from the 'Nights' days will know that Lukasz can do no wrong. His production quality has been growing with every release and now he is truly in a class of his own. This one is forthcoming one of our favourite labels Sub Audio Records on 2nd April.

Panix - Keep It Going
The last UK Garage feature of the month I promise. This one comes from my BOI Panix. The man is like a chameleon you name a genre and he will boss it. This release was a limited lathe cut by the label EC2A, somehow this label wasn't on our radar. We will be keeping a close watch on this label for future releases so I don't miss out on another banger release like this :'(

"Low-frequency escapades inbound! Maintaining composure through these strenuous times, eminent Austrian bass music label Sub Audio Records unveils the first stage of this year's hefty release schedule. Reaching out to UK's lauded Dubstep melting pot, the imprint welcomes none other than Londoner badman Arkham Sound to the family - going to town with two murderous originals. The two-faced release is topped off with a militant remix by the label boss Gnischrew itself, certified sound system fuel altogether. Formerly known as Nights, the acclaimed artist and producer made a name for himself through his NSX label venture and sporting releases on famed outlets, such as Sentry Records, Duploc and Rarefied.

Leaning into the swelteringly super-charged A-side, 'Mercy' lays down the law with a blistering display of meticulous sound design, Arkham Sound in full force. Distortion 'a plenty, off-kilter and sinister, stripped-down instrumentation in full swing. 'If Only You Knew' in turn ventures off into meditative spheres, rolling basslines and wistful arpeggios guiding the way on this beautiful as complimentary journey. Granular sample fragments reverberate into the echo chamber - haunting through and through. Taking care of (version) business, Gnischrew turns 'Mercy' upside down and serves its deconstructed elements in a heavyweight signature style."

‘Levelz 2 Dis’ sees one of the most exciting collaborations not just to come out of the 1Forty camp, but the UK Garage scene, and the outcome has exceeded what was an already very high expectation. Simply put, we're talking about track of the year potential. A catchy melodic undertone rattled by a bassline that can only be described as nothing short of perfect, vocalled by a Coco at the very top of his game, to deliver a track that will ultimately go down as one of the stand out tracks of the NUKG era so far.

MPH has woven his sound into nearly every conceivable corner of UK dancefloors, strapping together monumental releases for some of the scenes most important imprints. From smooth garage creations with DJ EZ’s label Nuvolve, Kiwi Records, Southpoint and now 1Forty to be added to that list, to raucous bassline bangers for the likes of Night Bass & CruCast, its difficult to find a leading underground label within Garage & Bass music that MPH is yet to encounter.

Coco returns to the label after his feature on the Dance Dun Remix in October 2020 which saw a set on Sir Spyro’s BBC 1Xtra show to celebrate the release. The Sheffield MC and Producer has been steadily championing the grime scene for the north with his unapologetic delivery, colourful character and undeniable energy earning plaudits from the likes of Complex, DJ Mag, Red Bull, Noisey, i-D and regular backing from Annie Mac, DJ Target, Charlie Sloth and best mate Toddla T. Fresh off the back of performing at Stormzy’s Merky Festival at Ibiza Rocks and pairing with Sheffield United FC for their Premiership Kit Launch last year Coco delivered his best body of work to date with his ‘Regional Murker’ EP with Target and Toddla T giving it their ‘Targo Embargo’ and ‘Hottest Record In The World’ backing respectively. Going into 2020 Coco put out more productions but also still consistent with vocal releases including ‘Cooking’ alongside Jammz, Blay & Capo Lee and the powerful ‘I Love It (Black)’ in response to the BLM movement.

His top-tier calibre of releases across the last three years has seen the MC collaborate with standout names including AJ Tracey, Nadia Rose, Scrufizzer, Conducta, Shola Ama and of course fellow steel city don Toddla T. This stellar discography has seen him deliver ferocious sets across festival stages such as Glastonbury, Outlook, Annie Mac Presents: Lost & Found, Bestival, Notting Hill Carnival, Nass, Kendal Calling to name a few.

Never Let You Go (VIP)

Kobe JT is a name on the UKG scene’s lips and touted as the next best thing to happen by many and its not hard to hear why, receiving support from the likes of UKG legend DJ EZ, as well as Flava D, Sammy Virji, Rinse’s newest figurehead IZCO and the Prince of UKG - Conducta, who also brought him through for Kiwi Hush 2 in 2019. Still only 22 years of age and having worked with the likes of Conducta, MOAD and Logan amongst others and a discography spanning across Downplay (Slime Recordings), Strictly Flava, Wang Records and of course Kiwi Records where the Gloucestershire producer featured on the Kiwi Sound Compilation CD in 2020, he’s already proving to be a hot prospect.

The 22 year old producer has been on 1Forty’s radar for some time, so as soon as the submission came through of Killa P’s ‘Rate Us’, the soulful summer vibes paired with the ragga style meant it was an instant addition to the 1Forty Acapellas EP.
