This mix means so much to me. I included mostly Réelle's compositions, but also @arca1000000 , who was a big inspiration for Réelle. It also includes my work 'neodorsal', which I would now like to dedicate to Yannick.

Yannick was always fascinated and convinced in Jacque Fresco and his 'Venus Project'. I hope some of you who listen to this mix will also be as passionate and optimistic as them. 

I want to speak out my deepest condolences to their family and friends. 

May you, Yannick, always be in our hearts and minds.

rrrrrrafael by r hunter is a huge spectral panorama held together at the seams by precise percussion flickering between creaky electroacoustics and punchy HD SFX. The treatment of the sound material here is like hearing the hallucinatory product from a noise removal algorithm pushed beyond its intended domain, something uncompromisingly sharp, rippling, ringing, totally embracing its own digitality. But this digitality is not a cold digitality and finds its counterpoint in various organic interventions, ranging from liquid bass stabs to autotuned lamentations to oceanic drum kit adventures. Throughout this translates into variously sized tension-release-structures keeping these pieces breathing and moving as crisp dsp and smeared tones lose and again assume form, the density of the discrete sound components always allowing for new permutations.

"The process of writing rrrrrrafael was a deeply personal experience that occurred during an intense period of musical growth in my life. Amongst the discourse around de/re-constructing club music, I instead relied upon a fairly abstract musical constraint by asking myself the following question: How would you reconstruct music from your mind’s image of sound? I approached this by using a symbolic method of composition, creating graphic scores and making macro-structural decisions based upon my experience of what sounds ‘look like’ before committing to any audio. Because of this, a lot of the sound design is a functional result of different emotional states that I experienced rather than a conscious effort to capitalise on aesthetic complexity."

Marco Colocci (@queimada77) is an Italian producer and sound engineer based in Berlin. Learning how to play the contrabass and music theory has initiated the growth of his interest in the techniques of field recording and sound design, as well as his overall passion for electronic music. After self-releasing music during his teens, and later producing for Taiwanese artist Sabiwa from Chinabot, under the moniker Queimada he now presents a debut record coming out on Gin&Platonic.

Built around a concept proposed by Harvard professor E.O. Wilson, Eremocene depicts a future state of miserable epoch into which human species is slowly but steadily accelerating. Characterized by the existential & material isolation that comes from having calamitously extinguishing other forms of life on Earth while intrepidly fulfilling our immediate needs, the future labeled as The Age of Loneliness sees our identity completely transformed. 
On the record, Queimada explores precisely the conflict between the tempting ease and a pang of unconfessed guilt in an attempt to capture the ironical relationship they epitomize. The album represents an encounter between different techniques of granular synthesis and field recording. The encounter between the unstoppable and destructive, altogether resulting in a disruptive anthem of the intensifying burden of the postmodern times.
