Calling upon a vast network of musicians from across the evolving frontiers of visionary music, Liquid Bloom and PERE have gathered the sounds of the global electronica scene into one momentous collection with ‘Afar Remixed.’ 

Consisting of seventeen genre-twisting tracks built from the duo’s trance-inducing musical blueprints, this imaginative remix album dives further into Liquid Bloom and PERE’s shared identity while exploring the cutting-edge world of psychedelic sound design.

Where 2021’s ‘Afar‘ hits its main stride in the realms of organic house, the 2022 remixes delve into a surrealistic mixture of progressive and broken beats within an omni-tempo framework, placing deep basslines and energetic grooves in brilliant opposition to the source material’s acoustic and vocal melodies. 

With reimagined tracks delving into lighter, darker, and more nebulous atmospheres, each author’s signature is made evident in the collection’s energetically diverse and emotionally magnetic structure, creating an experience for listeners that bares all of the hallmarks of a journey through the musical looking glass. 

As excursions into musical realms beyond boundaries become increasingly demanding, it is collections such as this one that reveal the persisting power of collaboration and the resilience of the creative spirit. While some elements of these songs may feel familiar — especially when compared to the source material — there remains an undeniable sense of discovery within each composition that will beckon listeners back into Liquid Bloom and PERE’s unified vision as well as into the expanded worlds of their remixers time and time again.

Presenting another slower and sensual music journey with African vibes.

From about 30 minutes in, this adventure features mostly Amapiano which is a genre I discovered two years ago, lately fell in love with, and can't get enough of.

Amapiano comes from south-Africa and is a style of house music, with rattling shakers, luminous synths, throbbing percussion, jazzy chord progressions and woozy basslines. 

Here i slow down the music even further, which is how i enjoy it best 😏

I recorded this DJ set at my parent's home in Israel - stay tuned for the video showing me on the decks and featuring works of art by my family members and their colleagues.

Born in Madeira Island, Portugal, Lvsitani is an artist inspired by the eternal strength of lusitan soul. In Airborne he tries to translate the feeling of flying switching the ground for the skies.

“Siento una Pena” (“I Feel Sorrow”) is the second single from Guajirando, the debut album from Mito y Comadre. It is a composition inspired by where we come and the mother figure, an attempt to reconnect with the inner child and the paths that have led us to the present. This song symbolizes a refuge on days of insecurity, a search for a connection, staying grounded and a conversation with the soul.

Guillermo Lares recalls: “‘Siento una Pena’ was written one night, after leaving the recording studio in the village of Minca in Santa Marta, sitting on the river bank at daybreak, remembering the place where I was born and my mother.” 

The video for “Siento una Pena” is an animation depicting the journey of a migrant through different scenes and a canoe trip through various places until he comes to the sea. He comes across spirits that keep him company on his travels. The use of photos of natural scenes from Venezuela transports us to real landscapes of great significance. 

The video was directed by the Peruvian animation studio Tenis, which produced Novalima’s Ch’usay. It was made remotely during the pandemic. There is a great cultural affinity between different South American countries, so they understood perfectly the feelings that the song transmits.

sumergido en visiones artificiales , proyectadas desde el ojo externo de la ignorancia. 

Después de despertar del profundo sueño que el soñador ignora. 

Se derraman las hermosas melodías que de las entrañas brotan, 
que se identifican con las raíces caladas en las tierras de donde un día floreció mi existencia. 

Reactivando memorias , emociones , lecciones que desde la infancia suprimidas yacían en silencio , recuperando así mi ser, mi sonido , mi nombre .

Un homenaje a los viejos sonidos y viejos maestros , a los amigos , los compañeros , a los que hoy no están , y los que aun no han llegado.. a los que a través del tiempo creen , crean , crían manteniendo costumbres, danzas , ritmos, que respetan la madre tierra , que aman su mas profunda pureza y se mantiene fuertes ante cualquier amenaza.

On the banks of the cold lagoon, the spicy sun and the majestic immensity, happy about this discovery, under the pressure that the height exerted on my fragile but well-adventurous body, surrounded by ancestral lands that revealed before me: my own essence. 

After years of forcing myself to adopt a reality to which I did not belong, submerged in artificial visions, projected from the outer eye of ignorance. 

I awoke from the deep dream that the dreamer ignores. The beautiful melodies that flow from the gut, which relate to the roots of the lands where one day my life flourished. 

Reactivating memories, emotions, lessons that were suppressed ever since childhood, lay in silence, thus recovering my being, my sound, my name. 

Chibcha, the constant rhythm that resonates in every heartbeat of this temple, which connects to the paths traveled along the human experience that I call life, long, rugged, rocky terrain, hectic, full of emotions… 

A tribute to the old sounds and old masters, to the friends, the companions, to those who are no longer here, and to those who have not yet arrived ... to those who, through time, believe, create, keep traditions alive, dances, rhythms, which respect mother earth and its deepest purity and remain strong in the face of any threat.

There was always a piano at Flamingus parents home where he grew up, in southern Sweden. It was the perfect tool for expressing feelings and ideas. His grandfather, who passed away before his own mother was born, was the one with the musical talent in the family and luckily it was passed on. 
For a couple of years Flamingus has taken his music to dancefloors and festivals in Europe. 
Flamingus/Gustav also composes music for movies and he is often involved in different musical projects.

Live From New Earth

Eccodek has emerged as one of the leading lights in the global electronic scene. Based in Canada, the project is guided by producer, multi-instrumentalist and remixer, Andrew McPherson. From its humble beginnings in early 2002, the band has gone on to release 5 albums, including their recent searing, live recording, Living for Live. Their blend of dub, funk, jazz and cinematic electronics, alongside stunning vocal and instrumental performances by an ever deepening well of cultural collaborators, has put them at the top of the world fusion scene. With 3 releases on U.S.'s White Swan Records and numerous releases through Real World Records, Six Degrees, Buddha Bar and more, Eccodek continues to push the fusion vibe in new and exciting directions.

2011's Remixtasy saw the band's earlier work remixed by a tastemaker's list of producers, reimagining tracks from More Africa in Us, Voices Have Eyes and the Juno-nominated Shivaboom. Heavyweights like Transglobal Underground, Six Degrees' Jef Stott, Dubmatix, EarthRise SoundSystem, Real World's Syriana, Adham Shaikh and Delhi 2 Dublin's TSpoon created fresh interpretations of Eccodek's catalogue. Eccodek mainman Andrew McPherson gave the redux treatment to 2 radical redubs from the first album - an Afrobeat throwdown and a sensuous Steppers dub odyssey. A great way to celebrate 10 years.... but sights are now set on the release of their 4th studio album in spring 2013. (a stunning collaboration with Malian griot Jah Youssouf) There's no telling what exotic shore the Eccodek mothership will wash up on next.
