Alinka - Something New [FREE DOWNLOAD]

The debut release from Chicago’s NBD Music Co. (a new label owned and operated by John Mork of The Sound Republic and SpatulaCity Records) comes from Milwaukee’s Asher Diamonds, who made waves last year with releases on Nurvous Records and PlusPlus. This year he’s hands in an incredible original tune (“Got to Know”) that has garnered major support from DJs as well as the blogosphere. A driving deep affair sporting a vocal sung by Diamonds himself, this tune has been damaging dancefloors worldwise. Original tune #2 is “That Feeling”, a driving piano jam that is everything great about that early 90’s house sound we all love. Both tunes are monsters.

On “Got to Know” remix duties we have Chicago’s Alinka, who along with partner Shaun J. Wright (formerly of Hercules & Love Affair) has been making waves with fantastic releases on Luke Sol- omon & Derrick Carter’s Classic Music Company, Tribal, and GetUp to name a few. Her mix sticks to her tough, driving style and has a nice bumpy Chicago feel. Up next is NBD’s own John Mork, who has been carving out a new sound with releases on NYC’s GetUpRecordings, Guesthouse Music, NuJax, and more and has delivered high-profile remixes for Midnight Magic, The New Division, Speck Mountain, Change Request and Goldroom. A synthy, funky acidic affair, Mork’s mix takes a funkier nu-disco angle on the original. Last but certainly not least, we have an amazing late night deep number (so many feels) from Whiskey Disco owner Sleazy McQueen aka Space Coast whose productions have been licensed to over 100 releases, remixes & edits on labels worldwide, including, but not limited to; Bearfunk, Virgin, Compost, Paper Recordings, Siesta & Glenview Re- cords.

Must Get There marks the debut for Majestique on Eskimo Recordings. The original is situated in that wide area we call “disco” and is backed with remixes by Martin Dubka and Drop Out Orchestra.

Bursting from the digital underground is Majestique, a Dutch production duo that grew up in the mid eighties. After they ran into each other, they discovered a shared passion for strange chords, running arpeggiators and dusty drum computers. A passion that is possibly programmed in their brains by influencers like Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Giorgio Moroder. With sudden access to unlimited analog machines, it felt like a higher power was trying to tell these guys it was time to create something timeless in a digital era where music is consumed so quickly.

Must Get There is taken from the upcoming Eskimo compilation that will be out after summer.
