“That Muscle Shoals Sound” is a tribute song for Jimmy Johnson and The Swampers, (Barry Beckett, David Hood and Roger Hawkins). The song lyrics tell the story of a hopefully guitar player who thumbs a ride to Muscle Shoals to get a job at the Muscle Shoals Sound recording studio. The storyline is fashioned loosely around Duane Allman’s venture to Muscle Shoals and artist Rick Revel’s own experience in the music business.

It’s wild how eight years in music production can feel like both a blink and a lifetime. When I first tackled this remix of Ashnikko’s "Daisy," I thought it sounded solid—hell, I was proud of it at the time. But as I kept leveling up, I realized the original mix didn’t hit nearly as hard as it could. It lacked polish, energy, and frankly, it didn’t do Ashnikko’s raw vocal power any justice.

So I went back to the drawing board. This new version? Fully remastered. Rebuilt from the ground up with all the chaos, distortion, and edge I’ve grown into as EchoGhost. Heavy synth textures, sharper drops, cleaner transitions—everything I wished the original had.

Massive respect and credit to Ashnikko for her killer vocals and for being the kind of artist who inspires remixes like this in the first place. You’re a force. Keep dropping heat.
