
Conceived by four friends on the sandy shores of California, Soul Majestic channels their sunny beach days and bonfire nights into their unique brand of reggae music. But look beyond their laid back vibe, and you’ll find they are ever pushing the boundaries of the genre with an edge that cuts through the smoky haze. Their music blends their deep commitment to roots reggae with their love of rock, hip-hop, pop and folk music. This is reggae, yet it’s original–a new twist on familiar sounds–with heartfelt messages and a high-performance band that will have you waiting for what comes next. Their signature sound features male and female singers trading melodies and soaring harmonies, laced with edgy dancehall and crowd hyping verses, epic lead guitar solos over a wide range of tight danceable beats with rock flourishes, heavy-dub interludes and memorable hooks that will captivate and move you to dance.

With a resume that includes recording with some of the greatest legends in the business (such as Sly and Robbie), sharing festival stages with the likes of Rebelution, Matisyahu, Sean Paul, and Damian Marley (to name a few), and extensive touring of North America both headlining and as a support act for Anthony B, Soul Majestic has managed to amass a worldwide fan base. They have journeyed together through many adventures and growth opportunities in their career, from a pilgrimage to Jamaica to record their second album “Until that Day” at Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Studio, to touring Canada in support of their third album, “Better World” (which received an award for Galaxy Radio Canada’s top 10 international reggae albums of the year). Through it all they have maintained a strong unity and drive to continue to do what they love most: uplifting people through music!

Since the successful crowd funding campaign that fueled the recording of their fourth album “Setting the Tone” in 2014 and the construction of their own studio and production lab, Soul Majestic has arrived at their highest peak of live performance, songwriting and musical creation yet. The recent album landed on the iTunes top reggae charts and was submitted by industry insiders for the 2015 GRAMMY Reggae Album of the Year! 

Following their #RoadToCaliRoots Spring Tour, a run of shows that included Lucidity Festival, Santa Barbara Earthday, and the 2015 California Roots Festival, they are channeling the energy and momentum they have been building into the studio, with a fifth album entitled "Pass It Around" to be released in February 2016. To promote the album they are releasing one single per month with accompanying music videos through Fall 2015 as a part of their #songamonth campaign. With more shows coming up in late summer/fall of 2015, Soul Majestic is one to keep on your don’t miss list!

In a UK reggae scene that has long eschewed bands in favor of sound systems, Backbeat Soundsystem are a different beast, bringing 8 musicians to the stage. While many of their peers are slavish in their attempt to recreate an authentic Jamaican-leaning sound, Backbeat Soundsystem are not afraid to go in totally different directions, pulling in influences from all across the music spectrum, to create their vision of modern reggae. Dean and Adjua effortlessly tear up the stage with lush harmonies, soaring melodies and natural born chemistry. This combined with a flawless horn section and undeniable groove leaves the audience mesmerised by their show stopping performance. Bringing an electronic flavour to the mix, with dub effects, sirens and live analog synthesiser, Backbeat Soundsystem remind the world that dub reggae is at the forefront of dance music culture.

Since forming in 2008, Backbeat Soundsystem has appeared at many of the best-known UK festivals, including Glastonbury, Boomtown Fair, Beautiful Days, Secret Garden Party, Greenman, Boardmasters, and many others, as well as toured in Europe and the United States. They’ve supported Madness, Cypress Hill, Arrested Development, Tinie Tempah, The Streets, and Dub Pistols. 
Following the success of two self-released EPs and two tours with Easy Star All-Stars in the UK, the band was signed by the U.S.-based reggae label Easy Star Records. Together Not Apart, the band’s debut full-length, came out in 2014 via Easy Star and brought a worldwide audience to this ambitious young band. The Punk Archive called Together Not Apart “…a top, top record and one you need in your collection,” while Shout 4 Music said it was “Packed with conscious lyrics, and buoyed by a reggae riddim filled with energy and positive vibes.”

Wisdom is Stick Figure’s seventh album and follows the unprecedented success of 2019’s World on Fire, which peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Top 200, #6 overall Top albums, #1 Independent, and #1 Reggae album. World on Fire has sold over 300,000 copies including streaming equivalents, according to Nielsen soundscan data. Stick Figure’s catalog has now sold well over one million copies and been streamed over three billion times. 

Wisdom is a journey and a search for what matters in life–a search for meaning, purpose, place and belonging. Schon als Teenager machte er sich auf, um die einzigartigen Vibes der Karibikinsel Jamaika aufzusaugen.
Er hat Jamaika und die Kultur mit großem Respekt aufgenommen und den direkten Draht zu den Menschen dort gesucht – genau das macht diesen Künstler aus. Nach über 1000 Konzerten rund um den Globus ist es immer diese verbindende Energie, die ihn als Künstler ausmacht – der direkte Draht zu den Menschen. Spätestens seit seiner Hitsingle „Intoxication“, die in der Karibik den Sommer 2004 musikalisch geprägt hatte, gehört er zur absoluten Top Riege der internationalen Reggae Gemeinschaft und Festivallandschaft.
In über 25 Jahren entstanden dabei über 100 Kollaborationen mit Top Stars wie: Shaggy, Sean Paul, Marcia Griffiths, Tanya Stephens, Ky-Mani Marley, Christopher Martin, um nur einige Jamaikaner aufzuzählen. Auch in den USA hat Gentleman mit einigen Stars zusammengearbeitet: Aloe Blacc, Pink, Destiny´s Child, SOJA, Michael Franti uvam.
Selbst in unseren Breitengraden ist die Liste lang und bekannt: Freundeskreis, Udo Lindenberg, Die Toten Hosen, Michael Patrick Kelly, Beginner uvam.
Gentleman veröffentlichte über 12 Alben mit 4 Gold- und einer Platinauszeichnung. Darunter mittlerweile Genre-Klassiker wie „Journey to Jah“, „Confidence“ oder das großartige „MTV Unplugged“. 
Zusammenfassend kann man dem Reggae Connaisseur und Autor Ulli Güldner nur zustimmen, in dem er Gentleman als „bis heute ersten & einzigen Reggae-A-List-Ambassador dieses Landes“ tituliert.
