Taking inspiration from classic garage, rave, and breakbeat anthems of the past, Tāmaki Makaurau artist deepState presents her latest EP via Echo Train Records.

The first track, Butterfly, signals a nod to downtempo stylings of the 1990's before moving into a rave inspired synthesis, paired with some subtly placed keys.

The second track, Starfield, leads in with soothing pads, towards heavy vocal bridges that build the song into a state of euphoric harmony.

Alongside these two tracks, Ōtautahi producer Ultraviolet provides a remix of Starfield, a complimentary high-voltage jungle alternative to the original.

Soaked in dreamy pads and distant vocals “Coil Smoker” envelopes the listener in memories of raves long past. The distorted bassline carefully dominates the track resulting in a second drop that hits like a vape out of juice. 

The percussive sub bass focused “Space Lanes” is complemented by airy and lightweight synths that beckon you to jump into the space lanes. A tribute to ravers all over the world.

Written between January and March of 2022, these tracks document changes in situation, inspiration & process; and thus, serve as a snapshot of a period of growth as an artist and human.

Aeternum Vale provides a haunting tape driven pad & vocal, which float atop a rolling bass. An ode to the 90s, Blacklodge combines dub techno & jungle influences to create a solemn yet driving experience. Carrying a similar theme, Tundra combines swirling filtered break beats with an emotive synth line. Finally, Mrin Codex is a showcase of bygone recording techniques, utilising cassettes to degrade and saturate the elements; expect an eerie, gritty take on breakbeat.

A club rattling release from @uvuvuvuv for the third installment on Echo Train Records

"G0-45T" provides this 2 track EP with a dream-like intro before diving head first into the chaotic bass driven cyclone of track two. The fractured, washed-out vocals from "U" endlessly battle with the cyclopean reese bass. The tracks are linked with similar elements but in opposing ways, with the dazed and hypnotic echoes of "G0-45T' mirroring the volatile break beats and vocal swells from "U".
