It’s Scour Records’ one year anniversary! Twelve months ago we released Scour Cream Volume 01, so to mark the occasion we thought we’d hold a Hunger Games-type celebration, unfortunately none of us are very good with weapons or murder or being murdered. An Olympics style celebration seemed a little over the top, It’s A Knock Out was on the cards but our budget ran out after making one large shoe for the Bulgarians. So we’ve scaled it down, come round to ours and have a proper party, old school fancy dress styleeee!

All the party games are prepped - pass the parcel, pin the tail on the donkey, kiss chase, naked twister, finger the angry fox, trampoline darts on poppers, all the big ones! The party sideboard is prepared! Vimto for the gents, cherryade for the ladies, Babycham for the hardcore fetishists. Bombay mix, cocktail sausages, cheese and pineapple, vol-au-vants (hopefully filled with whatever made Kerry Katona go all fruity) Anything missing, hmmmm….of course! An assortment of nuts and some party tunes! All wrapped up in a free 4 track goody bag for each and every one of you to take home!

Father Funk rocks out the bubble perm and comes strutting through the front door like a funky white brother. Who’s he come as? Mika? Kevin Keegan? No silly! He’s come as Leo Sayer!

Leo fires a bazooka in through the porch and shoots two AK47’s like he’s trying to kill every mother in the room. Apparently he likes his men like he likes his coffee (with milk and two sugars) Pimpin’!

Is that Prince tucking into the Jelly and Ice Cream? ha! Yes! It’s Warp9! Top costume!, really would prefer it if you didn’t try and make our doves cry though…they really don’t like to see your starfish impression…

The Phunk Junkies need no encouragement to crack the pearls out, before you can say ’Sir Very Elton of John’ they’ll be in a wig and heels, have the lippy on and be sashaying down the hall towards the toilet. RuPaul? Lilly Savage? Oh hell no, those legs can only belong to Dame Shirley Bassey.

Hang on a sec, sorry about this….LEO! GET YOUR FINGER OUT OF THE FOX!! it’s not time yet! Father! Leave the Phunk Junkies alone, it’s not that kind of party! Put the guns down! Oh for God’s sake!

This was kind of a new sound for Lucki, who switched it up from the slower & spacious production that he's used to.  We think it turned out really well, and enjoy hearing Lucki over a little faster and more drum heavy records.  This was produced by Hot Sugar and recorded the same day as "Boomin'", and drops just after Lucki was added to the Danny Brown tour.

An early stand out of our 2014 releases, “The One EP” firmly established Lane 8 as one of the most exciting young artists around, picking up heavy support from Pete Tong, The Magician and Tensnake.

Following the heavy-hitting Klangkarussell Remix that featured on the EP, Matt Lange, Baio and Bhok come together on a diverse, genre spanning remix package.

Matt Lange takes “The One” on a techy journey, twisting the searing bass of the original into a subtle, hypnotic melody, surrounded by trademark Matt Lange atmospherics and the infectious vocal.

“Nothing You Can Say” gets the remix treatment from Baio, who as well as being a Grammy winning member of Vampire Weekend is also making a name for himself with his solo productions on Greco-Roman and Future Classic. A quirky blend of stuttering clicks and warm flowing bass, his mix once again brings the gorgeous vocal of Lucy Stone to the fore.

Rounding off the package is a remix from up and coming UK producer Bhok, who’s early productions have garnered him the support of XLR8R. He brings his bass heavy style to “The One”, creating a complex low end roller.

Hi SC...so I've been on here a year today! a big thanks to everyone who's played my tunes and thanks especially to my new friends on here who are encouraging me and collaborating on various projects. I've really enjoyed my time on here more than I thought I would and it's down to all you people, listening to mine and producing your own music. Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down (with Kim Göransson - Vocals)

This is the second of a seven song EP that was recorded back in 1994-95 between the time we were the "Hitmen" and "Sun Tower" which we are calling the Dawn of Sun Tower and features many of the folks who participated in the making of the Hitmen CD. The EP was recorded on a now obsolete platform of 16-track DAT machines that were synced together so the songs can't be remixed but have been gently remastered so as to maintain the integrity of the original but bring the volume up so it's closer to the output of most modern audio productions.

Following on from their Record Store Day ‘Looped EP’ release, which featured remixes by Dauwd and Lubomyr Melnyk, Kiasmos – made up of Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen – return with three new tracks and a remix by Tale Of Us.

Recorded in various locations including Reykjavík and Berlin, the EP opens with ‘Drawn’, a four-minute percussion fuelled track with gentle piano motifs. ‘Gaunt’ features the addition of ambient synths and a drum loop, underpinned by slow-moving chords. Title track ‘Swept’ which the duo offered to fans as a surprise gift in form of a free download card at previous show dates, showcases a more club-oriented beat structure alongside Kiasmos’ signature emotive instrumentation. 
 
Closing the EP is a remix from Berlin-based duo Tale of Us who met Kiasmos in London and twist the original downbeat title track
into their distinctively dark aesthetic. Pulsating hats and a driving bass loop add pace as the track builds toward an epic breakdown.

The ‘Swept EP’ will be released on 12”/DL via Erased Tapes on November 20th, 2015.
