New York based percussionist and composer Eli Keszler is set to release his new album Icons on June 25 via LuckyMe. Icons is an immersive work in perpetual motion, evoking a glorious and dystopian western world. Known as a frequent collaborator to Oneohtrix Point Never, Laurel Halo, Kevin Beasley, and Rashad Becker, Keszler’s latest solo venture offers up a latticework of melodic percussion, drum set, and electro-acoustic instrumentation, built upon fragments of American abstraction, ancient scales, industrial percussion, and jazz-age film noir to achieve its feeling of imperial decay. Keszler’s instrumental performances are framed by panoramic recordings of New York City and the Odyssey Cave, along with other on-location audio from his global travels, defining an expansive music that takes on hyperreal forms difficult to describe outside of the loss and wonderment that defines our age.

“Icons is the music I made during a time where travel and trade were effectively suspended,” states Keszler. “I spent nights wandering around Manhattan collecting recordings of the empty and silent city where a car alarm was audible from blocks away, where the hum of the electrical grid and the clash of bicycle gears suddenly occupied a massive amount of space. I spent the entirety of that year in Manhattan, probably the longest I’ve stayed in one place in over a decade. The island was essentially shut down and running at an erratic pace. The speed of the city seemed to oscillate from intense speed - ambulances, protests, helicopters —  to near stasis — a sort of beautiful, strange, serene stillness. I saw something strange and beautiful happening: power cracking and people changing. With Icons, I was working with these mythological tropes that are deteriorating and decaying before our eyes to create a music that finds beauty in our fragile and unstable reality. 

Keszler has released music on Shelter Press, Empty Editions, ESP Disk and PAN. His 2018 album Stadium was awarded Boomkat’s Album Of The Year.  Most recently, Keszler wrote the original score to Dasha Nekrasova’s feature The Scary of Sixty First (which made its recent premiere at Berlin Film Festival) and contributed to Daniel Lopatin's original score for Josh and Benny Safdie's Uncut Gems. Keszler’s music, installation, and visual work have appeared at the Whitney Museum, Lincoln Center, MIT List Center, Victoria & Albert Museum, Sculpture Center, The Kitchen, South London Gallery, Hessel Museum, Harvard's Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts, Luma-Foundation, Barbican, Walker Art Center, and MoMA PS1.

Frequent collaborator to Oneohtrix Point Never, Laurel Halo, and Rashad Becker – Keszler’s has shown and performed at The Lincoln Center, Victoria & Albert Museum, MoMA PS1, and The Barbican. He has worked across music, film and art, and has had exhibitions at the South London Gallery, MIT List Center and collaborated with Turner Prize winning artist Laure Prouvost and Kevin Beasley. Keszler has written the original score to Dasha Nekrasova’s feature The Scary of Sixty First that premiered this year at the Berlin Film Festival, and his other film work includes contributions to Daniel Lopatin's score for the Safdie Brother’s acclaimed, Uncut Gems. Keszler's new album, ‘Icons’ builds upon fragments of American abstraction, dreamlike ancient melodicism, industrial percussion, jazz age film noir and imperial decay. The music takes on forms difficult to describe outside an articulation of the loss and wonderment that defines our age.

Icona Pop and electronic duo Louis the Child have teamed up for a new song called "Weekend." They've shared a video for the song, in which Icona Pop sing as a group of youths—shirtless, rowdy, free—enjoy the titular weekend. Watch it below. "We work hard and play hard, we are constantly jet lagged and we do things at weird times," Icona Pop said in a statement. "This song is about our beautiful chaos that we think a lot of people can relate to." Louis the Child shared a statement, too: “The idea for this song was started on a cruise ship, developed in an airport, and finished with a bunch of friends in the studio. Music is a non-stop lifestyle.”

Belgian in origin, Igor Vicente and DkA join forces to create two monster tracks for their 'Haus Boo EP' on Hot Creations. Championed by Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and Richy Ahmed it arrives hot on the heels of Hot Creations’s Paradise events series announcement for Ibiza 2016, this is music made for those heady nights on the DC10 terrace.

On the A-side is 'Haus Boo' which the guys created after being inspired by the all time classic The House Master Boyz and The Rude Boy Of House 'House Nation'. Taking the release into a much darker realm is 'Shady' with a seriously addictive beat, endless high-hats and relentless snares.

Infatuated with music from a young age, Igor Vicente founded the Belgian Wildfamily Parties in which Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Dinky and Matthew Styles among others have all played. Some years later he formed one half of Ultrasone, and has released on Get Physical, Mobilee and Hot Creations multiple times. These days you can catch him playing at one of his two residencies in Belgium, Cafe d'Anvers and Fuse, and founding the label State of Flow.

DkA has his roots firmly placed in the house music scene and has taken his sounds all over Europe, whilst releasing on Get Physical Music, Mobilee Records and Play Label Records to name just a few.

Tokyo crew Trekkie Trax and their various members have been exporting their hyperactive takes on grime, footwork, 2-step, techno and more for a minute now, all the while pushing the output of their individual members. One such member is Carpainter who, on his upcoming Geofront EP for Nightwave's discerning Heka Trax label, has combined the disparate worlds of Detroit techno, anime, juke and footwork with a few other sounds to cap it off. The Complex UK favourite, it has to be said, is "Jupiter Funk" with its hypnotic, acidic melodies and pummeling drums. Sometimes less is more, but every now and again it's refreshing to hear whip-crack drums and dizzying melodies brought under a maximalist burst of madness. Get into it above and get the Geofront EP on July 22.
