The long-awaited first official LP from Michigan-based producer Sango, North, will release digitally on Soulection July 23, 2013 with vinyl to follow. 

Sango’s North brings forth a new sound, one that pulls from soul, rnb, future bass, hip hop and broken beat fusing them together with seamless vocals chops and grooves. North features collaborations from a diverse group of artists like Australia’s Ta-ku, cinematic downtempo producer Atu, nu-soul singer JMSN, story-telling rapper WALDO, newcomer vocalist Brea and Dpat who produced ‘Remember You’ for Wiz Khalifa and The Weeknd. 

Following major worldwide support for his refixes, EP’s and beat tapes from the likes of Brownswood’s Gilles Peterson, KCRW’s Aaron Byrd, and Noisey (VICE) to name a few, Sango is poised to elevate the definition of what “future” music is. 

10+ casual releases later, North combines the best of Sango over the last few years into one seamless musical journey. North is a love story of two people, on a journey, who find better things in themselves when they are with each other. North in Hebrew as noted visually in the album art [that Sango designed himself], representing a sense of “heaven” or “glory” are symbolic to Sango, as he sees everything he does an artist for the greater glory, the greater good, as something bigger than himself.

Who?

This mix is inspired by one of my favorite UK producers (Stumbleine), and his latest album release (Things Don't Sparkle Like They Used To). I live mixed a one hour set of amazing tracks into a seamless dream this morning (12/20/13) after listening to his new music. 

This beautifully emotional music is almost unknown in the United States, and is mainly produced and recorded in Europe thanks to diligently dedicated dreamweavers of ambient bass.

I have spent the last several years studying UK ambient bass music, the UK post dubstep movement and the amazing female vocalists that are taking this music to the next level of emotional bass music. I am in love with this music, it has changed my life in many beautiful ways.

I want to thank and honor my European peers in my humble mixtape dedicated to this beautiful style of underground dreamtronica they have created. I am only an ear, timing, and some occasional delay. All of the true talent in this tape belongs to these amazing artists:

Stumbleine (and his alter-ego Swarms), Sorrow, CoMa, Shura, Hiatus, Alina Barez and Galimatias, Asa, and SOHN representing the UK with such amazing music. Thank you all, I have truly enjoyed watching your careers over the years. Every release from you all has made so many of my days thanks to soundcloud and bandcamp.

Future Vision

First up on remix duties for "Chameleon" is a rather talented chap named Echo Conscious. His take on the release is a bit more unexpected rhythmically, but his willingness to explore a different route in that regard certainly has it's reward. Managing to capture the beautiful core of the original with it's ambient spaces and guitar at the heart of it's momentum is one of the most engaging aspects of what Echo Conscious does so well and a big reason we're happy to have him on this release.

Myriads Revisited is a collection of remixes to our sophomore track, Myriads Rise. It features a few hand selected artists from around the world giving their unique reworks of the original arrangement.

Brad Dale AKA echo conscious. As producer for the Indietronica band Ishi, voted the 2010 & 2011 Best New Act & Best Electronic/Dance Act for the Dallas Observer, Brad is also an incredibly talented composer for Dallas Audio Post where his work has been featured in campaigns for Sony Music Group, Microsoft, Warner Brothers and Apple. As his solo project, echo conscious, Brad crafts astounding arrangements that blend powerful live instrumentation with meticulously engineered field recordings into some of the strongest melodic soundscapes we have ever heard. 

When we asked Brad if he would be interested in reworking Myriad's Rise, not only did he say yes, but he also offered us the opportunity to rework the new Ishi single, Mother Prism from their Album, Digital Wounds. 

We couldn't be happier with the echo conscious rework of the song and are so excited to continue working with this fantastic artist in the future.
