Commissioned by the legendary concert venue Bad Bonn in Düdingen, Switzerland, and the KRAN project, ‘Bonn Route’ is a collaborative album by electronic musician Feldermelder and percussionist Julian Sartorius. A location- based sound walk that can be experienced both on-site in the village of Düdingen, and as a full-length album. The eleven tracks are a sonic homage to, and an artistic interpretation of, a small village in Switzerland’s heartland.

Building on his practice of site-specific performances and percussive sound walks, Julian Sartorius captured sounds and patterns at eleven locations: the train station and cemetery, on the banks of a stream, on a bicycle path, and in an intimate cavern above the village’s lake, amongst other locales. Sartorius documented the soundscape of the village in field recordings, recorded samples of objects and captured percussive patterns by playing on the architecture and vegetation found on-site.
Feldermelder then processed these recordings into eleven compositions, preserving the locations’ acoustic identities, but expanding on Sartorius’ material. Besides the bassline on ‘Veloweg’, Feldermelder used only sound reactive synthesis and resonators to create additional sounds, layers and tracks, thus multiplying the spectrum and rhythms of the original material. ‘Bonn Route’ is a musical journey rooted in the emittance of sound, and our resonation with the world around us.

Feldermelder is a Swiss musician, sound designer, producer and installation artist. He is co-founder of -OUS and part of the audiovisual collective Encor.studio. He has previously released several releases on -OUS, both solo and in collaboration with Sara Oswald.

Drummer, artist and percussionist Julian Sartorius’ precise and multi-layered rhythmical patterns are keen excursions into the hidden tones of found objects and prepared instruments, bridging the gap between organic timbres and the vocabulary of (experimental) electronic music. He has previously released his album «Locked Grooves» on -OUS.

HANDS proudly welcomes one of the hottest acts on the current industrial techno circuit. The Toronto based duo MDD is the alliance of techno producers Measure Divide and Dolgener, who pursue a distinct passion together: The dark and dirty and intensely rhythmic “Reverse The Contrast” is a collection of tracks that defines their diversity and ability to express their aggressive, distorted, and edgy sound reflecting on today's maddening world. Discover old and new school industrial influences in a very unique combination, laid out with highly skilled production in ten tracks around the 6-minute mark, food for thought and pure physical stimulus at the same time, contemporary club grub galore.
What started with intense recording sessions in 2015 became a live act in 2017, which has led MDD to perform alongside the likes of Orphx, Ancient Methods and Perc already; and in 2018 they have released two 12” vinyls to great acclaim. While industrial and techno have crossed over massively in recent years, from both camps, the question may arise, how does one add something new to the style? MDD succeed in nailing that objective, with an album that oozes euphoria and authenticity – with an innovative combination of sounds: From their techno heritage they take the rhythmic clue, a relentless, capturing backbone laced with substantial groove. And at the same time, they pay due respect to industrial traditions that by far precede the crossover wave of recent years: Tracks like “Crushed”, “Underlight” or “Valium” focus on unadulterated rhythms and noise chops with big washes of distortion; “Breath”, “Dives” and “Submission (featuring AADJA)” feature actual, albeit heavily treated vocals, and addictive melody hooks, thus even hinting at the times when tracks were actual songs. But there’s reconciliation at hand - “Grind” or “Second Injection” reveal their techno heritage through the whipping snare sounds and thumpy kick drums. And then it’s all in the same way head-nodding, stomping goodness. Contrast and reversal, past and present, MDD play with seeming antipodes and achieve something ultimately enjoyable!

Morbid Descendant is the result of a collaboration between label owner Thrae, A Birth Defect and Unholy Existence; with "Reckoning Genocide" they propose an industrial sound made on distorted synthesizers, modular percussions and reworked samples creating a harsh feeling without compromises.

France based producer Mathis Kolkoz (Founder of Cold-Wave band Blind Delon) and singer Paul Brousse (member of Hardcore and Metal bands, Influence Néfaste, Liquid Flesh & Epitaphe) present to you their new project Pudeur on Area Z. “Pudeur”, meaning “delicacy” in French , also synonym for “gentleness” is a perfect incarnation of what this project is not about. The duo draws its influences from Punk-EBM and Black Metal and deliver to the audience a genre which Mathis likes to describe as Black Body Music.

The EP kicks off with its first track “My Mortal Cold” which is very representative of the spirit behind their output. The speed varying from 160 to 175 beats per minute throughout the EP creates a fresh rendering of EBM in a raw, staggering and tenacious manner.

Along with this ep will be a compilation of 4 remixes, which will be rather more dancefloor oriented, by members of the collective and other artists such as: Imperial Black Unit, The Undertakers Tapes in collaboration with Incendie, Chrome Corpse who previously released on Area Z and finally Mind/Matter.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from Marek Nalikowski. “Hack The Fear” comes off the new EP of the same name out on Warsaw’s BTS. This is the Polish producers debut EP and it contains three originals and three remixes from the likes of ISNT, Abu Zeinah, and Piotr Figiel. Today we host the video for the title track which is a menacing mechanical work of cyber grooves and psychedelic energy. The accompanying clip picks up on these vibes for a similar visual trip.
