Avant notre pause estivale, l’heure du dernier podcast de cette saison 22/23 a enfin sonné. Après des sets plus bouillants les uns que les autres pour Radiant Records, Hör, Trax ou encore Kiosk Radio et des passages derrière les booths des meilleurs clubs de France comme Le Sucre, le Macadam ou encore l’IBOAT(aka sa 2ème maison), on reçoit aujourd’hui un pur sélecteur et lyonnais d’adoption depuis plusieurs années : RIGO.

Fêtard passionné, membre du crew bordelais Super Daronne et surtout digger infatigable, il passe la plupart de son temps à parcourir les disquaires la tête dans les bacs. Un amour du digging qu’il nous partage aussi via sa chaîne Be there or Be Square sur laquelle il met en lumière des tracks oubliées du monde entier, sans genre, sans origine et sans âge.

Quand il n’est pas en train de chercher de nouvelles pépites, ce géant au grand cœur est derrière les platines, aussi à l’aise en solitaire qu’en équipe. Avec la volonté de défendre sa vision décomplexée et conviviale de la fête, il parcourt les genres avec une aisance déconcertante et un panel de morceaux aussi bien orientés club que plus adaptés à une écoute de salon. Une selecta qui fait toujours mouche et qui sait toujours charmer son public !

Not many people can combine the worlds of contemporary, avant garde and club sounds the way 'A Colourful Storm' label head Moopie can. Having birth the label out of the highly regarded mix series of the same name releasing names like Klon Dump, Valentina Magaletti and some beautiful compilations curated from Time Is Away to name a few, Moopie real name Matthew Xue, has shown he has a phenomenal ear for the diverse and interesting. This same ear also applies to his outstanding DJ sets which have seen him join stages with the likes of Ben UFO, Helena Hauff as well as taking the helms recently in Pickle Factory all night long to a solid packed venue til morning. For this mix Moopie has supplied us with a live recording of his opening set for Objekt and CCL in Melbourne. A perfect example of his vast stylings bringing the mood filled room into a raucous party. We had a quick chat about the mix, whats coming up and the label with the man himself.
