We are excited to announce the launch of our new White Label Series with who other than Lakim! We've been planning this series for some time now and are glad it is finally becoming a reality. Since Soulection is always finding new artists and sounds we wanted to really focus and simplify the music into a new platform. Every Soulection White Label project will consist of only 2-4 tracks and really highlight the true craftsmanship of each artist. Lakim is a perfect introduction for this launch. What is cool?

Miles Davis was cool. His classic "So What" was very cool. Ronny Jordan's acid jazz take on Miles' "So What" was very cool indeed. 

I like cool!

As "Take Five" inspired me to do "Take Six", "So What" inspired me to do "That's What". Same logic applies; an outline with lots of room for manouvering, contact a bunch of awesome musicians, see what they come up with and blend and stir everything into a delightfully cool cocktail. Swing it ;-)!

Well, 2016 was a bit of a mixed bag wasn't it? It's certainly a year that I wont forget in a hurry - for all sorts of reasons - good and bad. However the one common denominator throughout pretty much all of it has been music. Whether its what you turn too to make you happy or whether its the cause of what occasionally makes you sad, there is no denying that music is the one thing that brings us all together to share what is best about being a human. So here's to sharing and caring. We can all do more of both in 2017 but I want to sign off for the holidays by saying a MASSIVE THANK YOU to you all for caring about my music. A new remix by Dutch beatmaker Moods. This young producer from Rotterdam delivers a delicate piece of work, differentiating himself from the massive beats of Sam A La Bamelot and Sausbei who have both remixed our single 'City Life' earlier. The environment of Moods is his biggest inspiration, and he translates the noise around him into music with the usage of for instance a field-recorder.
