Breakbot - Lazy Sunday Selecta

A-Side Breaks Vol. 3 marks another chapter in a series I’ll be dropping on a regular basis — a steady stream of break-heavy selections designed for dancers who live in that space where rhythm meets instinct.

This volume leans into the raw, percussive energy that powers the breakin’ world: those stripped-down drum sections and groove pockets that DJs stretch out to keep the floor alive. These are the moments breakers train to, build on, and lose themselves in — the fuel behind the footwork, the shapes, the creativity, the flow.
For Vol. 3, I went crate-deep again, pulling out joints that shaped different generations of movement culture. It’s a nod to the roots, a salute to the dancers, and a reminder that the spirit of the break is still beating strong.

And since this series is dropping continuously, expect more heat soon — more rhythms, more textures, more reasons to hit the floor.

The Twelves Essential Mix 12.18.2009

Growing up in Australia we were used to some sweltering hot summers, with the kind of days where you couldn’t do anything other than lay in front of a fan listening to music. Nostalgia is a hard thing to define but its a feeling that has always been present in the music we like.

We wanted to recreate that feeling of nostalgia through this mixtape series.   An innocence if you will.

We only start these mixtapes when the inspiration strikes every few years, which coincidentally has been while we are at home over the summer in Australia.  These mixes are judgement free, and full of some of my mildly guilty pleasures

Hello girls & boys,

here's our new baby : "bedtime stories - sounds for a sweaty summer"... the idea behind this mix was to share some of the best tracks we've discovered in the past few months. as you can imagine, we weren't able to limit ourselves to new discoveries and ended up putting some old favorites into the stew.    
summer is always a very special moment for us as our music seems to be the product of warmth and sunshine. for those of you fortunate enough to head to the beach, we hope this will provide the perfect soundtrack for your barbecues, volley-ball games and poolside parties. for those of you who won't have the opportunity to take a vacation, let's hope this gives you a little bit of digital sunshine and puts a smile on your faces.
