Hello Everyone, welcome on board the PFG Progcast, your weekly excursion around Planet Prog! We have left Australias shores in search of some fresh new talent, and in doing so we haven't had far to travel. October begins by crossing off a new country on our travels, New Zealand! We've landed at the home of an ex-pat making big waves with big connections, and a healthy CV to boot. PFG Please make some noise for NILA. (Nic Cavendish) 

Scottish-born, Nila now calls Auckland in New Zealand his home. A DJ first and
foremost, his break into the scene came back in the 90s in his hometown of
Edinburgh playing radio shows and club gigs across the country.
As a Producer, Nic has been releasing his own music with a number of record labels, such as Selador, Limbo, Pangea, Tarnished, ICONYC, BC2 and more. His most recent signing is to another major player(more news soon)Its clear that his sound is finding an ever-larger fanbase, as behind the decks these productions have gained support from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo and Gai Barone, no less.

Nila has been booked at a number of successful events based in Auckland including Shipwrecked, Soronous, Collude and Aum who all recognise Nic for his sound and technical ability. At these gigs he has supported the likes of John Digweed, Guy Mantzur, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, James Zabiela, Hernan Cattaneo and Eelke Kleijn.

His frisky Radio show ‘S I M U L A T I O N’ which started in Oct 2018 has also been well received and has been gaining popularity, regularly hitting the #1, #2 and several other top 10 positions in the friskyRadio Top 100 charts. 

With no sign of stopping, Nila is just hitting his stride so watch this space… because you’ll certainly be hearing a lot more from him in the very near future!

The 91st edition of Juicebox Radio is proud to welcome Gaetano Barone aka Gai Barone from Italy. A veteran of the trance & progressive spectrum and on a league of his own, Gai Barone started playing the piano at the age of 4. Falling in love with the club sound in his very youth, he was already DJing around Italy in 1990 and hence began producing elementary, minimal tracks in 1995. Gai eventually has been pushing boundaries in his musical career over the years, having had sensational releases on Armin Van Buuren's 'Armada', Markus Schulz's 'Coldharbour', Guy J's 'Lost & Found', Morttagua's 'Timeless Moment' just to name a few, with good support from Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, Cid Inc., Hernan Cattaneo and many more. Also having collaborated with John 00 Fleming, Paul Thomas and Tim Penner on 'JOOF Editions, Vol. 5', Gai is unstoppable with his routinely show 'Patterns' - consisting of pure & outstanding selections from the deep & progressive space. Also running his own imprint entitled 'Patternized', Gai is one of the most fascinating artists in the industry today and we're really thrilled to have him on our show for an exclusive one hour mix. After finding dance music in his late teenage years, DJ Samer aka Samer Salhab, moved from his hometown of Gainesville, Florida for Tampa. Already a talented DJ, he quickly assimilated into the local scene despite the music de jour being more breaks-lead. Tampa was awash with opportunity, and after a chance meeting in a local record shop, Samer and local celebrity Bill Vines (The Maji) 
decided to work together creating Pangea Recordings and DJing and producing as Evrydaydowners. Success followed with gigs and international DJs charting their music, but soon Samer looked to move beyond his home state towards the bright lights of Southern California. Moving to San Diego in 2002 was the making of Samer and soon he found himself DJing alongside some of the countries best DJs and increasing the brand identity of Pangea Recordings. Finally taking the label global with the help of certain well placed A-list DJs charting and playing his music, Samer took the opportunity to play to much larger crowds and premier locations and touring worldwide. Now signed to a host of internationally recognised labels, DJ Samer shows no signs of slowing down, indeed, with such a wealth of experience, he’s just hitting his stride.

Melodic Beats Podcast #38 comes from the other side of the world, Courtesy of Nila. Originally forming his craft in his homeland Scotland, Nila forged his status in the dance scene from there. Following a move to New Zealand 5 years ago, Nila has been maintaining his status as one of the best through his productions over the recent times. We are honoured to have him guest for us here with a 2 hour mix of totally hypnotic techno infused progressive house. And keep an eye out for a bit of a remix of a legend he has done for us on Melodic Beats recordings, released mid December…….Huge!!!!!!
As we are still unable to enjoy these sounds in the place they were designed to be played in, we will continue to ensure all this good music is available for you to listen too in whatever your preferred venue…….. (front room, car, walking the dog, at work, or wherever)
