We first heard of Doc Jay in the infamous Libramix series where his contributions have been and still are constantly on repeat. He has not only created a wonderful mix series (Doc Jay's Inn) during lockdown, but Julius is also a very talented painter and overall visual artist. Hailing from Stockholm, Doc Jay blesses us with "a 2h 20min selection built by 100% Swedish music from the late 80s and 90s (or 97,6 % to be exact, as I accidently threw in a brittish track hehe...)" - in his own words. Last year, when we wrote that "the best UK garage is coming out of Los Angeles," we were talking about Introspekt. The US DJ, who has since moved to New York, really understands the genre—its appeal, swing and unique, bassy whomp. Listen to any of her tracks, like last year's "Forlorn," and you'll hear someone who produces like she's been making UKG all her life. This is probably partly because she comes from a dubstep background, but either way, if you're looking for new UK garage beats, Introspekt is one of the best going right now.

Her DJing also hits a distinct sweet spot, zeroing in one of the proto-dubstep, dark UK garage days when producers like El-B were making the hottest shit around. Her sound is both retro and forward-looking, as you'll hear on her RA Podcast, which balances vintage Big Apple cuts from Skream & Benga with new-school tunes from Amaliah and Surusinghe. It's not so much a throwback as it is a rejuvenation of an old sound—a new way to look at it and a new way to make it. If hindsight is 20/20, then Introspekt has perfect vision, and mixes like this are the perfect way to educate listeners, make them move and innovate a little in the process.

Paris-based bass devotee @beatricemasters lures us across a tightrope walk of a mix

"This mix is a recording from La Machine du Moulin Rouge in Paris for Positive Education Festival's event in January 2024. I was opening for Flowdan, Toma Kami and Bianca Oblivion, and was never happier to be doing a warmup, as the festival's crowd is super open to more experimental music. Therefore, I felt free to explore my favourite mood which resembles me the most: building a narrative from about 120 BPM to 140 BPM, navigating between psychedelic, syncopated techno and minimal deep dubstep. At the peak of the set, when the room started to full up, I deliberately took the energy down a notch with heavy contemplative dubs. The set felt like walking on a tightrope, balancing intensity and murkiness, bass and techno, playing with tension. It was one of the best times I ever had DJing."

Our Off The Record mix series returns with a radio-show like hour long mix from Music From Memory affiliated Berlin based Electronica / Jazz trio The Zenmenn.
The Zenmenn are a genre-blurring trio known for their lush, escapist soundscapes that blend ambient, Balearic, and cosmic funk influences. With a flair for vintage textures and laid-back grooves, their music conjures a sense of timeless serenity—equally suited for sun-drenched afternoons or introspective nights. 
The Zenmenn debuted in 2021 with Enter The Zenmenn on Music From Memory, a dreamy blend of ambient textures, soft rock, and global influences. They followed up with Hidden Gem in 2022, a collaborative album with John Moods shaped by loose jam sessions and warm, nostalgic tones. Both releases highlight their signature fusion of cosmic calm and crate-digger sensibility.
Their contribution to the Off The Record mix series showcases their crate-digging sensibilities and deep reverence for global sounds, weaving together a meditative journey that’s both soulful and transportive. 
We had a brief chat with the band (fronted through the words of their Keyboardist Magnus) about the mix and about what they had coming up in the rest of 2025.

They also gave rare interviews, reflecting on a deep musical connection that began in 2007, the legacy of minimal and lessons from a life spent in DJ booths the world over. 

"I felt excited and lucky to be invited so early in what I now see as a much longer journey," wrote Dygas. "Music holds memories in its frequencies, and the right track can transport you instantly to a past version of yourself. That’s powerful. That’s the kind of power I respect." Amen.
