Angry Wife

Constructed from elements of copyright-elapsed Steal Away to Jesus by The Southernaires (1941).
I created this entirely in Audacity using just the repeat, duplicate, copy, paste and reverse functionality.
I reversed the track, using track's opening three-note piano motif to create a metered-structure. From the vocals I created a new melody. To do this, for each note, I spliced a short extract of the reversed recording, made a copy, re-reversed it, then joined the two extracts together. I then arranged these half-backwards-half-forwards notes to create the new melody. 
Despite the fact that there are no discernible words (as the recordings are half-backwards), the beautiful timbre of the voices and the exquisite harmonies shine through, and there is a feeling of verbal communication nonetheless.
