Canadian born Sheldon Thompson AKA Sid Le Rock has been wowing music lovers with his unique electronic fusion sound since first bursting on to the scene almost 10 years ago. Based in Germany for the last decade, Thompson has been a musical inspiration for many, with a string of stunning releases through leading labels such as Ladomat 2000 and Shitkatapult. As well as recording a trio of artist albums for these imprints, he has been behind the creative and successful Cereal/Killers and Beachcoma labels and has had an extremely prolific decade with his Pan/Tone moniker.

Now the one time Toronto resident is joining forces with what is undoubtedly one of the cities leading record labels, the much-lauded My Favorite Robot Records. MFRR (as it’s known to its friends) has been around for 4 years now, but it is in the last 6 months that the label has made the leap from 12” single releases to full-length albums closing out 2012 with long players from the both Jori Hulkkonen and the excellent Fairmont. Sid Le Rock’s ‘Busted With a Bag of Bliss’ will be the label’s first LP of 2013 and is set to be their biggest album to date.

Thompson opens up this latest musical opus with the deep and emotive ‘Here We Are’ and sets the tone for the rest of LP with a fusion of haunting vocals and synth lead electronica. The album comprises 11 original compositions that take in the outer realms of pulsing techno, vivid electro and evocative retro fuelled soundscapes. From the dark refrains of ‘Nomad’ to the near euphoric synth melodies of ‘Bag of Bliss’ and onto the arpegiated 80’s rhythms of ‘Trans-Am Radio’ there is a genuine diversity here, yet the whole things is tied beautifully together by Thompson’s rock solid production and vision for the album as a whole.

‘Busted with a Bag of Bliss’ is without a doubt a stellar addition to the My Favorite Robot Records catalogue, fitting as it does with the label’s musical ethos of twisted dance/indie fusion. For Sid Le Rock it is perhaps his most accomplished LP to date and is certain to set fires alight when it hits the streets in the spring of 2013, enjoy.

This italian biologist and musician has already released with us 2 eps in the past and we're really happy to welcome him back on board. In this new installment for Factor City he delivers two great original tracks. Stunning Stars is a musical journey where you can listen his early detroit techno influences combined with driving percussion and padded riffs which build and build. Fluorescences is a tech-house roller with 80s inspired synths and a seductive ambience that remind us to some music released on the Italian Pigna label. Sid Le Rock, who's just released a great album on My Favourite Robot records, drops an amazing remix of Stunning Stars, a beautiful piece of music that combines dark undertones with epic melodies and a glowing ambience. Patrick Arbez

Born in Henningsdorf near Berlin, his uncle, a musician, inspired him to become a musician himself in 1995. Since then, Patrick Arbez has travelled a long musical journey until 4 years ago, when he decided to specialize on Live Acts only. For those, he uses a laptop, novation remute sl and a variety of Virtual Studio Technologies.

In early 2014 Patrick released his second Album (Treibstoff - Vi Två Records) which went straight into the Beatport Top 100. And he keeps himself busy: two new vinyl releases on Delude Records are already under construction.

Patrick Arbez is always trying to build his very own, memorable sound. His style could be described best as a mix of dark minimal and melodic techno, although he is experimenting beyond genres as well.

Victor Ruiz has been riding high on the crest of a wave with remixing Luzon - Baguio Track to great acclaim, to appearing on Herblut, Electric Ballroom and Sprout.

D-Nox again is causing a major fuss with his productions (both solo and working with studio partner Beckers) on Suara, Tronic and his own Sprout imprint to name just a few, and the D-Nox & Beckers remix of Quivver riding high in the Beatport techno charts as we speak.

Lets start with ‘Arise'. The beautiful blend of tinkling light arps and big phat bass sounds combine beautifully. Some tracks just come along and cause major devastation, and this is one of those!Press play, listen, and smile!

'Music' (feat. Beckers & Alex Stein) is a solid gem, where the emotive vibes flow lusciously, while the bass wraps you up like a comforting blanket of sound. This is a melodic gem and a half!

Rounding things off nicely, we find 'In Between'. This skippy beat laden moodier affair still oozes melodies and fuses the darker side with the light. Hot stuff!

As the dust finally begins to settle after the release of Pan-Pot's massive album 'The Other', it's time to unleash a collection of heavy hitting reworks from the best and brightest stars of todays techno elite. Through careful consideration and an acute attention to detail, we couldn't be more elated to confirm ten artists we know and love to contribute their unique vision to Second State's first ever remix package.

Kicking things off with a heavily twisted alteration of 'Attention' is Nicole Moudaber and it's a tangled, dark trek through dense acoustic layers of audible madness. Next up is the Hamburg duo

Extrawelt with their twist on 'Optimistic Grey' and they deliver a beautiful blend of emotion and groove they are synonymous for.

Following suit is another passionately romantic number from man of the hour, Stephan Bodzin, and his take feels like floating through a sea of clouds, resulting in a timeless classic to be a focal point in any set for years to come.

Next in line is Ray Kajioka's take on '808 Nirvana' and it's a cosmic ride, ripe with swirling atmospherics laid over big churning drums and rolling cymbals.

Following up on the second 12“ of this LP is a man who needs no introduction: Carl Cox. And in true Coxy fashion he turns 'Riot' into just that: a big room, tension building monster!

Broken Engine' is the next track to get worked over and Wigbert delivers a stunning mix of shimmering tones and growling bass resulting in a lush venture through a cosmic backdrop of flickering stars in deep space.

Joseph Capriati ensues with his vision of 'Fugitives' and he brilliantly keeps the vibe of the original yet adds his trademark big room flair to take it to another level of driving euphoria.

Enlisting the talents of Alan Fitzpatrick to remix one of the slower listening tracks on the album turned out to be magic. With his signature percussion, Fitzpatrick takes the parts and creates a dive deep into sultry smooth waters of seduction.

The first of our last two remixes, which are digital exclusives, come from Paul Ritch and he delivers a grinding rendition of 'Riot', expertly crafted for the more euphoric peak time occasions.

Last and certainly not least is a man on the rise, Kevin Knapp with his twist on his own collaboration with Pan-Pot: 'Get In'. An expertly crafted tech house jam exploding with energy and attitude perfect for any moment, day or night, indoors or out.

No matter the time or place, there is something here for everyone and we are truly fulfilled and honored to present this package of cutting edge artists to celebrate this landmark moment. We know you will enjoy!
