The Tinderbox Project aims to bridge the gap between youth music and the professional, contemporary arts scene in Edinburgh, providing young musicians with an opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of professional artists and encouraging creativity, network-building and excellence in youth music.  
The Tinderbox Orchestra is the main focus of the Tinderbox Project.

In 2008, Julien Pearly started recording live performances of his fellow singer songwriters and musicians while he was still performing his own songs. He took it further the following year when he concentrated his career in filmmaking and started the "Workers In Song Edinburgh". 

The aim was to record the music scenes of Edinburgh and Beyond in a cinematographic and narrative way, to celebrate its soundscape through its people, discover the roots of its folklore, and create an archive of recordings reflecting the energy of live musical performances - an untapped area of our shared cultural heritage.

This site is the place where to hear those audio recordings as well as listening to other networks and channels from The Scottish capital on film and music.
