For the 10th Monday Off release, label boss Mary Yuzovskaya curates four hypnotic cuts from a host of top tier techno talent.
Leading the A-side is ‘Schaefer Conclave’, a collaboration between Mary Yuzovskaya and NYC-based Twice As Proper events founder Craft. With pulsating low end, evolving pads, and delicate percussion, the duo have created an exceptional cut of deep techno. Following is Italian DJ/producer Ruhig’s ‘A Perfect Vacuum’, eschewing 4/4 patterns for rumbling syncopation and trippy synthesis throughout.
On the flip, Yuzovskaya goes solo with ‘Panic Season’, turning in a masterfully hypnotic track taking in dense percussions, eerie tones, and engulfing atmospherics. Rounding out the release, Monday Off regular and Polish DJ/producer Blazej Malinowski delivers ‘Mist’, a driving and propulsive track with shimmering production, sending listeners into a deeply satisfying musical wormhole.

The first Benzin compilation on Black Mojito Records contains four excellent techno tracks produced by Ness, Mary Yuzovskaya, Carlotta Jacobi and Jay Quentin. The spectrum ranges from trippy to massive, but always hypnotic and deep.

On the A-side, Ness opens the record with his driving and rhythmically accented sound. Mary Yuzovskaya follows it no less skillfully with dreamy synth sounds and rolling bass.

On the B-side Carlotta Jacobi presents her unmistakable mix of hard kicks, repititive synth elements and mystical pads. Jay Quentin completes the compilation with his groovy and driving sound, creating a special mood here with choral pads.
All in all, a record that everyone should have in their analog or digital record cabinets.

Benzin: B2 Jay Quentin - BNZN Snippet

Raising from the Swiss underground party and squating scene, Jolly has been involved over 10 years in different musical and cultural-political contexts. As a part of the music and publishing collective Kashev Tapes the values that move Jolly's approach stay distant from conventional and commercial standards. With an understanding of musical references and styles in techno music, the release on Black Mojito shows an example of his eclectic craft. His last year was busy with releasing his debut EP on Kashev Tapes, as well with tracks released on Deestricted, Terenor Records and on the Institut für Zukunft imprint. leftist dance music culture and collaborational artistic exchange remain as important part of his practice, as well as political radical ideas and that's the reason why he's now on Black Mojito.
