Anyone remember the Italian Rai Uno channel series about Mafia? The streets were empty when the series was showing in 80s', even the Italian police would be watching... as well as real criminals... Man, it made an impact on us, as it was one of  the few first international series allowed during Soviet Union times. I was too little to remember adult details back then, but the music by great Ennio Morricone always stuck in my heart. So here it is, some variations on the Theme of "La Piovra" - in fact, I work on the main theme (not finished yet) and on the theme of Greta - Strana Bambina. First I introduce barely modified original, then comes my part with a little ambiance, synthwave and tribal house drums fusion.

I think nobody needs an introduction to this song... It was fun finally getting to do this instrumental remake. The voices are not original and were purchased from Karaoke Version as a custom backing track.

I admire the melody and the unspoken power of this truly Pagan song. However, I was also curious about the transformation of the main riff into an EDM piece. I changed the original key to C#m and increased the tempo to 130 bpm.

EdaX - Monster Bass Club

Inspired by the Intro of movie King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017). This mild progressive acid techno tune is made in 127 bpm, using the FL Studio equipped with Bass Master, Sylenth, Sytrus, Nexus 3, Diversion and Krishna Synth VST.  The term Acid specifically refers to the harsh "acidic" squelching sound of the Roland 303.

Differences between acid techno and other genres:

The genre is generally more experimental than other types of electronic music. This is because it’s a fusion of two very different genres: acid house and techno . This can sometimes result in sounds that are hard to categorize, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on your tastes.  Another difference is that acid techno can be more melodic than other electronic music genres.  Acid Techno can be broken down into different subgenres to better understand how it’s different from other types of electronic music. These subgenres are: 

1) Dark techno. Its sound is quite dark and might give you a feeling of dread. It’s often used for creating horror and thriller films. Dark Techno tracks typically feature distorted basslines, sample snare drums, and heavy FX. 

2) Techno with a psychedelic feel. It is much lighter than acid techno and features more melodic and harmonic sounds. It’s often used for creating relaxing and soothing tracks. 

3) Acid techno with a minimal feel. It features minimal basslines, a strong focus on melody, and filtered and complex sounds such as reverbs, synths, and pads. 

4) Acid techno with a structured feel. It’s typically heavier and features stronger basslines. The basslines often have a hybrid funk sound.

"The Star Called Sun" (Russian: Звезда по имени Солнце, tr. Zvezda po imeni Solntse) is a song by the Soviet rock band «Kino» from the album with the same title released in 1988. Viktor Tsoi wrote the lyrics and music. The original song can be found on Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jmmHB3K69A

The song is very popular in Russia and is heard on the air of Russian radio stations daily. Many novice guitarists learn to play it, and there have been a lot of cover versions. I chose to make a light instrumental dance remix of this song, increasing the bpm to 128 over original 67.

Instrumental Remake of famous "Face à la mer" (French: "Facing the Sea") - a 2004 song recorded as a duet by french singers Calogero and Passi. The original song has 93 bpm tempo and mixes pop (verses sung by Calogero) and R&B (that of Passi) styles. My remake is relaxed style,  following original song, but giving some electronic interpretation.

A tribute to Alberto Bertapelle, better known by his stage name Brainbug, who was an Italian symphonic electronic trance music record producer and guitarist from Ceggia, Italy. He contributed to the development of trance music in early 90's.  Here I combined a theme from his tracks "Nightmare" and "Benedictus" with some motifs of Aquagen track "Phatt Bass" plus added something from the very bottom of my heart. RIP.

Those who watched MTV in early 90's should remember this pop hit, which, paradoxically, was less popular in the native France than in some other European countries. So if you feel nostalgia, and are open to the new sounds, this track is for you. The tune has not been drastically changed.  Tempo is 120 bpm, but the track was made using an acapella, which is not the voice of an original singer.  In a background You will hear a dominant basoon, clarinet, brass ensemble and violin accompanying the vocal, and of course some electronic beats along the way.

"Pump Up the Jam" is the opening track on Belgian act Technotronic's album Pump Up the Jam: The Album. Released as a single, it was a worldwide hit, reaching number two in the United Kingdom in 1989 and in the American Billboard Hot 100 in early 1990. The song was later certified triple platinum. Vocalist Ya Kid K was initially overshadowed by Congolese model Felly Kilingi, who appears lip-syncing in the music video and was featured on the first album cover as a marketing tactic. Ya Kid K was ultimately recognized upon a U.S. tour and a repackaged album cover that featured her instead of Felly. In 2005, it was remixed by DJ-producer D.O.N.S. and reached number one on the British Dance Chart. The Guardian featured the song on their A history of modern music: Dance in 2011.

I am a biochemist by profession and an avid fan of electronic music. I do not stick to any particular style though. Why? Because all genres are to be experimented with, just like in my lab.  Most of my original works are fusion of genres, although sometimes I create in a :pure: genre spirit out of respect to what historically it is...  So I fuse elements of trap, dubstep, EDM, house, funk, trance, progressive house/trance, minimal techno, acid techno/house, oriental, ethnic, breaks, psytrance/goa, synthwave, disco, trap, even some DnB or future house etc.  I also like Instrumental remakes, or so called classical variations on the theme, leaving some air to vocals. 

I attended the choir, I can read notes slo-o-o-wly and sing, but I create the music purely based on my own hearing and intuition what I like and what not. I learn on a go just like in a lab, as they say. I create or remix the music for personal entertainment and as the means of relaxation, but if someone else here happens to like it - thanks, I appreciate you dropping by, giving me some thumbs up and then continuing having a nice day :) I am not social media crazy, and will not be offended if you do not join my tiny fan circle, because my wellbeing and quality of life does not depend on gathering 1M likes or 1M followers. However, sharing positive things and encouragement is important.

There are so many great musicians creating different styles of music that it is hard to name those who made the biggest impact on my musical taste. Back in the days, we, as teenagers, listened to MTV and pirate casette tapes which compared to nowadays sound technology was awfully bad way to enjoy pop, early rock'n'roll and disco, and yet we did it. I remember being impressed by composers Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis, then groups such as SNAP, Technotronic and then 2 Unlimited. But it was, in fact, DJ Tiesto, DJ Darude and Voodoo & Serano that made electronica started to get under my skin during the European trance and rave music movement in late 90's. 

Besides famous DJs like Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Darude, David Guetta, Boris Brejcha, I adore the exclusive remixes and works of Damien Heck, D-Formation, Jean Elan, Mike Koglin, Oscar G,  Kenneth Thomas and Ronski Speed. Out of R'n'B/hip-hop artists, I love Sean Paul, Pitbull, Flo-Rida, MadCon and Timbaland. I must admit I am stuck in the millennia period and not following the trendy s... the kids are listening to these days as much as I should, but I catch some famous pop songs here and there.
