After making a big part of the track, I thought that it was still missing something. I made it to listen to a couple of friends, and one was with his daughter, Elea, 9 years old. She seemed to enjoy the track and was very interested to music. So I asked her if she would like to sing on it and we had a lot of fun doing it. What ever happened to General Midi ?

General Midi, or Paul Crossman, who also performed under the name Fluid, came out of the Bristol club scene, making a splash when he became resident DJ at the Shimmy Club in 1994. His mix of breakbeat with nu-skool, electronica, house, and hip-hop made him a popular act.

Emerging from the backrooms of the Bristol Club scene his slick DJ ability and an ear for a great tune gave him regular appearances at breaks hotspots across the planet such as Fabric, Chew The Fat, Blow Pop, Sounds On Sundays (Sydney), Two Tribes (Australia), Zouk (Singapore), Budapest, all across the USA, Hungary, Spain, Serbia, China and Hong Kong. Teaming up with production partner Eelz, General Midi has been responsible for some of the most genre defining tunes in 'The Westoner' ('99) 'Daft Funk' ('01) 'Further' ('03) & 'You will Be Under' ('03), 'Entertainer' ('04), 'Bass Rockerz' ('04) & 'House of Funk' ('05).

General Midi's singles have been released on some of the most respected breaks labels of the time, including TCR (Rennie Pilgrims label) & Kilowatt (Hyper's label). In 1999 he released his single "The Westerner," followed two years later by "Daft Funk," the same year that his first full-length release, Genetically Modified. All of this has led to his debut artist album 'Midi Style' which was released on Distinct'ive Records in 2005. In 2009 he released his follow up album 'Operation Overdrive'.

Paul Crossman also worked with writing partner and audio engineer Al Watson in the duo act called "Starecase".

Currently Paul Crossman works as a freelance course developer & music technology tutor at Point Blank London.

Deekline and Wizard cemented themselves in Breakbeat folklore. Known for their Booty Breaks from back in the day they were a force to be reckoned with releasing a full album called "Breaks, Beats and Blondes" on Botchit & Scarper Records in 2004. Another one in 2009 and 2 mix compilations. Unfortunately they both parted ways but Deekline has kept producing music and travelling the world DJing till this day.

Let us serve you a very special treat during these troubled times.
Boris Brejcha's "Purple Noise" has been one of his most popular and successful tracks ever and if this doesn't pant for more then what does?
So months later into some serious thought process and thanks to the incredible collaboration with fellow artists such as WorakIs, Moritz Hofbauer and Ann Clue we are proud to finally share this massive remix EP with you.

The first jaw-dropping moment during this project was when we received WorakIs interpretation of "Purple Noise". Let's go out on a limb here for a second and call his remix "anthem of 2021" which actually doesn't seem so far-fetched once you've listened to this journey yourselves. WorakIs certainly takes electronic music storytelling to whole nother level with this dramatic and incredibly powerful sound experience. 

Moritz Hofbauer continues with a wonderful rollercoaster ride through atmospheric vastnessnes coupled with gripping percussions and a bold bassline. It's the impressive diversity of this remix which makes it stand out so much.

Ann Clue, a long-time companion of Boris worked some real magic with her approach to "Purple Noise". While she allows the tender lead melody to float through a wide space of peace and harmony she still trusts in her uncompromising knack for propulsive percussive elements. 

Last but not least the maestro himself sat down to give his masterpiece a new paint. The outcome is a 2021 edit which is another reminder of why Boris Brejcha has become such a driving creative force in the music business over the last couple of years. Furthermore it's this kind of dedication to music which allows us to look forward into the future optimistically.

I am a biochemist by profession and an avid fan of electronic music. I do not stick to any particular style though. Why? Because all genres are to be experimented with, just like in my lab.  Most of my original works are fusion of genres, although sometimes I create in a :pure: genre spirit out of respect to what historically it is...  So I fuse elements of trap, dubstep, EDM, house, funk, trance, progressive house/trance, minimal techno, acid techno/house, oriental, ethnic, breaks, psytrance/goa, synthwave, disco, trap, even some DnB or future house etc.  I also like Instrumental remakes, or so called classical variations on the theme, leaving some air to vocals. 

I attended the choir, I can read notes slo-o-o-wly and sing, but I create the music purely based on my own hearing and intuition what I like and what not. I learn on a go just like in a lab, as they say. I create or remix the music for personal entertainment and as the means of relaxation, but if someone else here happens to like it - thanks, I appreciate you dropping by, giving me some thumbs up and then continuing having a nice day :) I am not social media crazy, and will not be offended if you do not join my tiny fan circle, because my wellbeing and quality of life does not depend on gathering 1M likes or 1M followers. However, sharing positive things and encouragement is important.

There are so many great musicians creating different styles of music that it is hard to name those who made the biggest impact on my musical taste. Back in the days, we, as teenagers, listened to MTV and pirate casette tapes which compared to nowadays sound technology was awfully bad way to enjoy pop, early rock'n'roll and disco, and yet we did it. I remember being impressed by composers Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis, then groups such as SNAP, Technotronic and then 2 Unlimited. But it was, in fact, DJ Tiesto, DJ Darude and Voodoo & Serano that made electronica started to get under my skin during the European trance and rave music movement in late 90's. 

Besides famous DJs like Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Darude, David Guetta, Boris Brejcha, I adore the exclusive remixes and works of Damien Heck, D-Formation, Jean Elan, Mike Koglin, Oscar G,  Kenneth Thomas and Ronski Speed. Out of R'n'B/hip-hop artists, I love Sean Paul, Pitbull, Flo-Rida, MadCon and Timbaland. I must admit I am stuck in the millennia period and not following the trendy s... the kids are listening to these days as much as I should, but I catch some famous pop songs here and there.
