The original ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ on Radiohead’s second album The Bends was unlike any other song the band had previously come up with. A stark contrast to their astounding rock sounds, this song followed a slower and more melodic tune.

Thom Yorke, the main composer of the song, recalled how it originated from a melody that he had “no idea what to do with”. Either way, the end product was more soulful than ever with an ensemble of instruments leading the way. The music for the song ranged from the regular sounds of Yorke’s acoustic guitar, Jonny Greenwood and Ed O’ Brien’s electric guitars, Phil Selway’s drums and Colin Greenwood’s bass – to the more unusual accompaniments of Caroline Lavelle on the cello, John Mathias on the violin and Johnny Greenwood playing a ghostly organ tune – easily making it one of Radiohead’s more musically rich songs.

Fake Plastic Love (Mr. Saturday Night) -(Bluegrass Rendition - Radiohead 1995)

I had fun working on this track, with a few twists and turns. It was recorded using Dolby Atmos, but I don't know how compatible that is with Soundcloud. I'm still finalising the mix and I hope you enjoy the journey.

Häufig wünschen wir uns etwas so sehr, dass wir manchmal uns ein Bild der Fantasie ausmalen. 
Wenn es Wirklichkeit zu werden scheint erkennen wir, dass ein Trugbild uns narrte.
Wir bereuen dann jemals diesen Wunsch gehabt zu haben. 
Uns hat die eigene Spiegelung getäuscht. 
Dennoch sollten wir nie auch nur ansatzweise das Träumen aufgeben.
Nicht alle Träume müssen wirklich gelebt werden.

Dies habe ich versucht mit meinem Klavierstück auszudrücken.
Aber, auch dieses Musikstück kann ein Trugbild meinerseits sein.
Es entsprang meiner Fantasie, meiner Illusion.

"Mirage" (05.12.2022 )


We often want something so badly that we sometimes paint a picture of it in our imaginations.
When it seems to be real, we realize that an illusion fooled us.
We then regret ever having had that wish.
Our own reflection deceived us.
However, we should never give up dreaming even remotely.
Not all dreams really have to be lived.

I tried to express this with my piano piece.
But, this piece of music can also be a mirage on my part.
It was my imagination, my illusion.

Mirage

After a trip through the Mediterranean with the paramour of my life years ago... these lyrics emerged as an expression of gratitude and love. Yesterday those lyrics found home in this new original composition.

Thinkin' About You [Instrumental]

This is a song that started with Ian (IPG1 aka Lou) and his amazing vocal stem, of which I really identify with the lyrics. He has a plethora of vocal stems, so if you're interested in making a hip hop song, you did hit him up. He shared this psychiatrist l particular one with Tez (Llanpsych), who put a beat and guitar on it. Tez then sent it to me, and I added the bass and the synth. Then Tez put the solo part in there along with the effects. he mixed and produced it, and an excellent job he always does, too. This is my first foray into making hip hop, though I've listened to plenty. Hopefully there will be more to come.
